"In an interview with the Palm Beach Post, newly-signed TE Les Brown hinted that the Dolphins would be running more two-tight end sets in 2012.
A change in offensive philosophy is hardly a surprise after a coaching change and the subsequent trade of Brandon Marshall. That said, Miami already ranked ninth in two-tight end sets in 2011, and new coach Joe Philbin's Packers ranked 15th. An underwhelming quarterback and wide receiver situation, however, explains the plan to lean heavier on the tight end. Anthony Fasano and Charles Clay won't have trouble finding snaps."

This is good news. With Clay, Fasano, and Brown as options at tight end and our lack of a wide receiving core means that they should be getting the ball much more often. Clay in particular I am very excited about.

good news with clay being a full time te. and im rooting for brown.

Les Brown should have success as a role player. He will pose a matchup problem for LB's and safeties and they should have special packages for him and Clay.
He's inexperienced, so I don't think he will be asked to do much blocking or blitz pickups. In a limited role he could be a nice weapon.

Sooo we don't need a Te now? Great! I don't see many much better than clay except fleener anyway..

We might be forced to run more 2-TE sets b/c of lack of playmakers at WR. I think Clay's diversity gives us options b/c we can put him in motion across the line and flank him out wide. Him and Fasano are so different like Gronk/Hernandez that is gives us options.

no more masturd or haynos? those amazing speedy playmakers!

nah but great news we are actually seeing some insight and does this mean mo floyd in round 1? and we all know how te's are a rookie qb's best friend

Who's the rookie QB? Matt Moore

Brown is some young guy, new grad, basketball player, who didn't even play football ... & is from the West & couldn't name 5 Dolphins ... is now an NFL football expert & is dishing out Dolphin football wisdom & strategy.

Good lord ... the gullible will believe anything!!

I'm sure the Dolphins told him ... hey athletic camp-fodder ... sign with us as we're gonna run alot of TE where you might make the team ... Brown is gullible to believe that, let alone spew it. Big Dummy, probably right up their with Moe with a 3 Wonderlich!!

Plain & siimple our TE situation sucks ... and we'll try anything cheap!! Now that's NFL wisdom!!

Read my earlier post (below). Fact is, with his athleticism he would be an intriguing pickup for any team and he did play WR in high school. No need for your sarcasm. The NFL has several guys who came out of nowhere to make an impact. Antonio Gates is a prime example.

Two tight end sets are great if it's to leverage a strength. If they are used to cover up line weakness, that my friends would be something else. Clay shows the ability to get down field. Fasano needs to be able to do it more than every three games. Too inconsistent in the passing game. We greatly need more out of the TE position.

How about a 3 TE (Clay, Brown, & Yeatman (for pass protection & very last receiving option))) set w/ Bush & Slaton in the backfield?

I'd say he has a snowball's chance in hell ... but, that's your agenda though, not mine.

I didn't even comment on his chances & you quoted me ... I simply said that some dummy western US basketball prospect is talking to the press about how/what the Dolphins TEs will line up & what they'll run. YES, sarcasm IS warranted!!

Tony Gonzalez was a starting power forward for USC. Basketball players who can catch translate well to the NFL. Les Brown can catch and run good routes.
His limitations will be blocking and potential injuries after not having played for so long.
