We cut St. Clair.........and we picked up that FB Eckel who we knew could possibly get called up for active duty, who as it turned out, did get called up......... :confused:

"Trust Nick" .....blah blah blah....... I'm sorry, I'm just not getting his personnel moves as of late.

For the future. We now have a FB who may help us in the future and a roster exemption so it dosnt cost us now. You have to look at it long term. What did we lose?

St. Clair was solid last year, but he's far from anything we need on the OL if we intend on getting any better. He was being shifted around all off-season, and never really found a spot with the emergence of Carey / Hadnot......

He was only here a year, so I certainly wont miss him....

Eckel is basically a bench player, so it's not like we're losing anything by letting him serve his active duty. He's got great potential, that much I know...

These latest personnel moves are basically made up of players who are considered "shots in the dark", so there's no need to get overly concerned about who they are, or what they bring to this team right now. Let them play it out on the PS, and if one or two can emerge and contribute, that's a positive sign....

What a foolish thread. Coach Saban knew that he was going to get called to duty and put him on the active roster as a matter of procedure then the reserve list, so when he comes back he is a propoerty of this team. It allowed us to get a propsect for the future at a position of no depth for basically nothing.
