Let's Blame Wannstedt

When real bullets are flying and were in a brutal division game against the Bills or Jets for example and Rickey is running beautifully and we win largely because of him he'll win back everyone. Just my opinion. No matter how much you hate Rickey you gotta hate the Bills more.

you can't blame Wanny for Ricky using weed, unless of course Wanny invited Ricky to a pot party

Well, someone in the orginization had to be using weed for them to even be crazy enough to ever hire Dave Wannstedt and Rick Spielman. But i guess a lot of people were fooled at how good coaches from those Dallas teams really were, the team that was never really coached. I could have won titles with that team, i cant believe guys like Turner, Davis, Wannstedt even Switzer got jobs. Yuck....

Don't hate him. Just don't trust him anymore. I suspect many of his teammates feel the same. How could you not?

I have an idea how we all can deal with our feelings towards Rickey Williams. I was as mad as anybody when he quit on the team last year but he is back now and apparently ready to play to the best of his ability so let's just blame last years' nightmare on Wannstedt. He's the one that overworked Williams and forced him to carry the rock over and over into a brick wall. He's the one who wasn't inventive enough to change the offense when his scheme wasn't working. Rickey is a Miami Dolphin again so let's root for him to be successful and help this team win games. Let's give Rickey a pass and double our hatred for the imbecile known as Wannstedt! I'm convinced we will be a very good team this year so let's get behind all of the players 100%.

So Ricky's failure to be a man was a direct result of Wanny's failure as a coach? :shakeno: Spare me.

No thanks! I would rather have Jay Fiedler, and Dave Wrongstedt back before the coward, turncoat, snitch, Ricky Williams.

Ricky had a chance to return to the Dolphins last year, when his agent worked out a deal with the NFL, and he would have completed his 4 games suspension. Dave was already gone, but Ricky turned it down...

One question...

If Dave was gone in November, why did Ricky still stay away?

Because he still had a fatty or three left!

uughhhh. That might be going a little too far, Oz. Dave and Jay? The most damage Ricky can do to us at this point is cost a little cap room, cause some embarassment, and take a roster spot from KayJay Harris, Travis Minor, or Sammy Morris. If he doesnt perform well, we still have Ronnie and Gordon. If(when) he quits or gets suspended, we still have Ronnie and Gordon.

Dave and Jay together again would be far more damaging than Ricky ever could. If(when) Jay didnt perform well, Dave would still play him and probably even brag on him. If a quality QB became available, Dave would say.. "what can that guy do that jay Fiedler cant?" Then there would be the vanilla defense, conservative offense, no halftime adjustments, no gameplan to exploit mismatches, 2nd round picks spent on 5th round talent, overthrown passes, underthrown passes, passes to phantom receivers, passes that get the receivers heads torn off, and of course......"STANDPOINT"

No, Im sure.....Oz, you most definately went too far with that statement.

Williams retiring helped us considerable, so I have no ill feelings.

Him retiring, showed wanstads weakness. Got wanstadt out of here, and got saban in. Great trade off for us!

Him retiring on ANY coach would have killed any team or coach. :shakeno: :shakeno: :shakeno: What coach can survive his BEST player retiring the week of training camp with no notice???

Some of you people are clueless and really don't get anything.

Wanstedt was on his last leg before the season began. And look what he did last year. We had a pretty good recieving core, defense that kept us in the game, but no real RB. yet we still pounded the running game like RW was still there.

Wannstedt could not adjust to the NFL, he had one mind set, and that was all he chose to play. I hate wannstedt.

Now Fielder, I don't agree with everybody. He couldn't get us over the hump, but he did win games. I remember the Miami Raiders game what was it, his 2nd year I believe? Running it in, running over armstrong. Everybody loved fielder that day, that year.

imo it was either ricky or wanny. i understand why he quit. ricky saw that wanny was gonna run him to death and saw up close what happens to 450 carries/yr running backs once their career is over (earl campbell) and he didn't want to become that, so he quit. if he didn't quit, dave runs him into the ground last year, then runs him into the ground again this year, and while competitive, the fins still can't be the pats and ricky probably retires after '06 anyway.

ricky quitting killed wanny's plan and cost him his job, but that's what it took to get another regime in that understands that a one man offense is going nowhere. saban acquires some weapon, and viola!, ricky is back, with probably 3 more years added to his career and who knows how many to his life.

Nope, I definitely meant it, and yes it did pain me to put those two back in Miami. But IMO I did not go too far. Under Dave and Wanny, as bad as they may be, or were, the team, without Ricky went to the playoffs. I gave up on Fiedler after the 2002 season, but he never quit on this team, never.

Ricky has one great season, and one good one, and this team went home every January.

BUT!!!! I never said what position on the team they could be, or play. Wanny is a good defensive mind, and Fielder could carry a mean clipboard! Now Ricky, until he addresses what he did with some remorse, can kiss my.........

:)

Lets be honest, Ricky wasn't the reason for Wannstedt's firing. Wannstedt was the reason for Wannstedt's firing. He just sucked.
