List some advantages we have coming into Sunday's game.

Trevor, Gerrard, Champ, Al, DJ, and Ian will put a stop on that!

Gerrard Warren??? :roflmao:

Has "Gerrard" ever stopped anything in his life besides that last bite of ice cream from dripping down his shirt?

This will be a good test for us. As good as I think our defense will be this year, I'm most worried about stopping a true power running attack like that of the Broncos. Defensively, if we stop the running game we're in good shape.

Offensively I think we just need to be productive. Last year our offense repeatedly put our D in bad situations, we can't have that again. If we can move the ball and play smart, we'll win.

Our main advantage? Nick Saban. He's been good so far, don't get me wrong, but we hired him for gameday coaching. I can't wait to see what he's got up his sleeves.

1) Unpredictability. We have game footage on them from last year. They have little to nothing on Saban. You won't even see it in preseason. Blitzes will come from nowhere, JT will slide around, we'll rotate between the 3-4 and 4-3. Kevin Carter will play two positions, and we'll rotate the DL.

2) Heat. We win our home opener 90% of the time. Denver air is cold and light. Miami's is humid, hot, and heavy.

3) Denver's DL. Underachieving ex-Browns in a new system.

4) Mistake-prone QB. It's no secret that the Miami defense forces mistakes. Even the impenetrable Tom Brady threw the game away as he got tossed around by JT. With a guy like Plummer, things could get ugly quickly.

5) Ronnie Brown. Denver picked up a CB in #2, which is all well and good, but Ronnie Brown is going to make a more immediate impact. They've never played against him, and he's coming in as the #2 pick (and #1 RB) in a RB-heavy draft.

6) David Boston. Bailey is going to keep Chambers from blowing up (I expect 1-2 catches tops for Chambers), but Denver's DBs are thin (that's why they spent 3 picks this year on CBs). Walls, their #2 CB, has the size to handle Booker, but has only played sparingly thus far in his career. Boston will be against (most likely) Darrent Williams, who clocks in at 5-8" 190lbs. He's a rookie, and will be against a guy who's got 6 inches and 50lbs on him. I can see Boston going for 60-90. You line up a formation with McMichael, Ronnie Brown, Chambers, Booker, and Boston, and you've created an instant mismatch. Look for McMichael down the seam and Boston in the slot.

Shanahan has already stated he would be surprised if Warren wasn't in Hawaii at the end of the season. Cleveland ruined him, it's time for a comeback.

His talent is unquestioned. But he's a turd. When someone is unmotivated and they only play for the money, they'll never go to the Pro Bowl.

Trust me, we've had our share of that kind too.

He's been doing great in preseaon, hell, he even played fullback on a TD run! Pryce will keep him motivated.

I can only hope thats sarcasm.

Yeah, except for Warren those are some pretty impressive names.

That would be like a Denver fan saying "Who?" if I listed: JT, Zach, Sam, KC, Junior, Channing, and TBuck.

No way...Shanahan said he would be surprised if one of guys wasn't in Hawaii at the end of theseason? I think I read last year that Heizenga wouldn't be surprized if AJ Feeley isn't the next Marino? We shall see.

Shanahan also thought that Clarett was 3rd round talent. And the next big thing in Denver.

Next big thing? I believe we still had Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell on the roster during draft time.

Here are your advantages:

1. Your Defense. If you attack aggrsively, Plummer can be forced to make a mistake.

2. You have an excellent home opener record.

3. Shanahan has a terrible record in Florida. He has lost most of his games he's played in Florida.

4. Your team is looked at as "weak" by many. We tend to drop games we "should" win because we look past them and don't prepare or whatever.

Denver's Advantages:

1. Our defense is also very good. Our corners are solid. Our linebackers are the fastes and some argue best in the league. The line was the weak link and while we've been heckled for the "brownco" pick-ups, they looked exceptional in preseason. That could mean nothing at all when we use live ammo, so we'll see.

2. Our offense will be better than last year. We've been slowly upgrading our line and we are deep at running back. Your run defense isn't the strongest point of your D, or at least is wasn't last year (could be different now) and we love to run the ball.

3. Jake Plummer hasn't thrown a bad pass since last season. I'm sure it will happen but preseason usually is a sign of things to come. Last year during preseason he threw for 4 ints in five games and zero touchdowns. During the offseason they worked on reading some defenses with him and he finished the preseason with zero interceptions and one of the highest QB ratings of preseason. Again, its preseason which could mean total crap, but it gives you a rough idea of how he'll look.

4. The Broncos play their best ball in September.

My prediction: A defensive battle. You guys will put up a good fight but your offensive woes will catch up and we'll win this one by a field goal or two.

Now: Commence the "Ban him" posts this site is famous for. :D
