These Stories make you realize one thing... Super Bowl Ring or Not, TD records or not, HOF or not, Dan is someone i am proad to call my Hero.

tHAT GOES FOR ME TOO.......he is truly special!

I know most of you won't agree with me. Dan Marino was never really a people person. Even in his earlier years he was never too friendly. I remember on a couple of occaisions when I was a kid at an autograph signing he wasn't to friendly. I actually tried asking him something and he ignored me. I've also heard other bad stories. This has nothingto do with Dan Marino the football player, b/c we all know Dan was the best. But as far as being friendly he really wasn't.

Iknow you guys will say he was always being asked for autographs and thats why he was like that. But realize this guy made millions upon millions of dollars, he was in the spotlight, and many people looked up to him. It comes with the job.;)

man, you ain't lyin' I had to get up and walk around. Thanks for sharing !

Man your not kidding i had to go and get some fresh air after that one. Marino is such a great guy and really is a campion ive read in some other post about how hes not a champion but i think its on and off the field that really counts and he definatly fits the bill.

I can remember growing up in Homestead,fl just south of miami and going to a summer camp run out of south dade senior highschool, it was the last week of camp and we took a trip to the miami dolphins training camp, i was standing near the fencing and yelled "ey marino beutiful pass" after the play he walked over and told me thanks and that it was nothing(nothing it was a 45 yard bomb to one of the wr. for a td) anyways i was wearing a dolphins cap and he asked me if i had a pin or something and if i wanted my cap signed i pulled a sharpe out and was so excited i almost dropped it but he signed my hat and up until hurricane andrew i had the hat. i lost it to the storm that year but the memory will always live on in me. i hadn't even asked him to sign it he just took my hat and asked if i wanted it signed. for him to do that in the middle of pratice was amazing b/c i knew shula would have killed him had he seen it. i was only 8 at the time but i will remember it always.

He has to be the one of the greatest players of the game for his on field and off field accomplishments.

He seemed like a nice fellow when I got his autograph at this show here in NJ few years back.
The guy is human too, maybe he was frustrated at something else.

I have lived in South Florida since before Dan got here, and I have heard lots of stories of him brushing off or being rude to fans. I'm not judging or saying he did not have his reasons, but in this area he was not known as Mr. Friendly.

I met Dan when I won an auction for one of his signed footballs at a Hooties Wing Ding (those who live down here will know the yearly event I'm talking about) back in 2000. He threw me a pass as I walked around to go up on stage to get the ball and then posed for an autograph with him....He seemed nice enough then (especially after having bid 800 bucks for the ball..but it was for charity)

As far as the stories about him being rude....well, it happens alot when people won't let a celebrity even enjoy a meal in peace. They are human too and like to be left alone every now and then.

look at the title of that...Marino makes another wish come true for fan

he keeps on doing it...
