Locker room interviews tell you something

By no means is Incognito innocent and he definitely took it too far...with his words. But fans have pictures of the two of them hanging out smiling on the street as recent as the Saints game. If Martin was that intimidated or scared or even bothered by this guy why would he EVER hang out with him outside of practice. Did Incognito threaten and force him to hang out outside of the hotel?...Again Incognito is not innocent here but something just isn't right.

Fair or not, both Incognito's and Jonathan Martin's careers in Miami are probably done.

- Because of the politically correct culture in modern America, the Miami Dolphins organization will have to fire Incognito for using the N-word (along with death threats). It would be a permanent PR disaster if the Miami Dolphins organization kept Incognito on the team, and kept paying him millions of dollars.

- Jonathan Martin will be hated as a snitch & coward & quitter by his teammates. There are probably plenty of Miami players who liked & respected veteran Incognito, and will forever hate Jonathan Martin for "snitching", and for possibly ending Incognito's career. Plus, Jonathan Martin signed a multimillion dollar contract, and then abrupty abandoned his team just before one of the biggest games of the year. If Jonathan Martin returned to Miami, he would forever be a dividing poisonous element in the lockerroom.

I'm not saying any of this is right or wrong, or fair or not fair. I'm just objectively predicting what will happen.

maybe so but there happens to be irrefutable evidence of him saying the N word in a racist manner, putting that into perspective and everything is so fresh in our minds and u read that caption of that pic,it makes u wonder COULD it have been racist?absolutely

The beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In the real world, overt insults are always a given. If you think this is racist, then you had better grow another 5 layers of skin.

Behavior seeks approval. Silence is approval. Any behavior that is allowed to proliferate based on its own merit will eventually spiral out of control.

I.E. "too much of a good thing is a bad thing".

No matter how prankster-like most of the guys in the locker room felt Incog was, they still allowed him to become his own police. He obviously found the acceptance he wanted from the group by their continued silent approval.

Once the first player had an altercation with Incog, the team leaders should have stepped into the picture and quashed it. Instead, the only person going nuclear was Incog. Growing and growing in his confidence, going from one team member to the next seeking the next approval.

I wonder if Jake Long or Reggie Bush would have let this persist?

And here is the most unmentioned fact that simply blows my mind, Incog was one of the team leaders?!

How lacking of quality men are we when this person is allowed to be a team leader?

This situation is wrong on so many levels it deserves every bit of negative press it gets. This is a lesson to the organization, players, coaches, GM, owner and anyone else associated with this debacle: This is NOT how to build a team.

i cant post new threads but anyway i just found a racist tweet from cogs

This was the pic of him playing a joke on Samuda supposed stolen car along with other Dolphin players. It was meant to be a joke. I don't condone what Cogs has done, but this is definitely reaching. This pic actually makes you wonder what REALLY happened between these two that went so wrong, because they tweeted about each other in light hearted ways in many other instances. I still think there is something bigger we are missing in this story. As much as Cogs is a complete douche bag, his teammates actually seem to like and get a kick out if his stupidity. Unless, Martin was acting this whole time all along that he befriended him because of complete fear , it makes NO SENSE!

Reading this and looking at these tweets it seems like Cogs likes to mess with him, but not in a malicious way (in my opinion).

I would be interested to hear Pouncey and Odrick's reaction to the voicemails. They must have heard similar things considering they were rookies under Incognito and are also both of mixed race like Martin.

It was interesting to hear Channing Crowder's take on all this on QAM. I was surprised that he didn't seem that offended by the "half-n" comment, he actually seemed to be on Incognito's side, even though he acknowledged he went overboard. Crowder was basically saying that Incognito was indeed the lockerroom bully, but in the dumb lugnut kind of way, and that if a player stood up to him, he would leave them alone and then go looking for the next weakest link. He cited an example with Austin Spitler who eventually thumped Incognito after being bullied by him for awhile, and Richie never touched him after that.

The picture is becoming clearer. Richie is a meathead, and his schtick was to bully rookies until they stood up to him or he found another target. But the team seemed to recognize this and just chalked it up to a prankster, "bro" personality, and seemingly liked him as a teammate.

Martin was a different kind of cat, with Ivy-league pedigree and uncomfortable with the dumb jock mentality around him. I can relate to Martin in a sense, as I too hung out with "bro" types on occasion and was never comfortable around them. That being said, Martin approached this in the WORST possible way from a "football brotherhood" perspective. If he was uncomfortable confronting Incognito, he should have dealt with this with Philbin and the staff once he "snapped" in the lunch room. By ditching the place once he finally had enough, and launching napalm over the organization, he violated the unspoken rules of the locker room. For this reason, I don't see any team signing Martin after this fiasco.

I doubt any real hazing went beyond a few days with either Pouncey or Odrick. They know how to handle their business.

If someone did steal the car, I believe it was no one else but Martin. The truth is racist now?

Unfortunately, this is absolutely true. If Incognito cannot be on this team, then neither can Martin.

Based on the comments I have read from Dolphins players today, I believe you are correct. I am surprised how much they took out for Incognito, and I have been one of the people kind of suspicious of Martin and the timing of this.

That said, I really have no sympathy for Richie. He crossed the line one too many times. If not this, it would have been something else with him.

Hmm seeing as how JM was in the drivers seat and appears to be texting (waiting). It looks like he was waiting for Cog so they both could go out. All reports from Darlington state Cog thought they were good friends. We haven't gotten enough information as all of its been slated to one side. We need both sides as well as context. I want to hear the voice in the voice mail. I want to listen to the tone and the manner in which it was said. I want to know if that's the whole voice mail or does it go on to say other things that would add clarity. I'm telling you this is so one sided its hard to not feel like its a witch hunt.

ok let me explain something to u all about why this is happening u might call me crazy but thats fine too
now in chinese astrology Martin is a "SNAKE"(1989) and cogs is a "PIG"(1983)

for the pig the snake is the worst compatible animal
http://pages.infinit.net/garrick/chinese/pig.html
if u scroll down to the compatibility chart u will see this
23ifbir-1.jpg

now 2013 is the year of the snake which is BAD news for pigs...my stepfather died this year he was born in 47 year of the pig
cogs is a pig in a snake year and this happening to him is part of his incompatibility with snakes ...this is NOT some joke i been studying astrology forever and it makes perfect sense!

dude, theres no doubt that ritchie was caught saying what he said, but really, does that make him rascist?? me n my boys all clown the hell out of eachother about each others nationality but that doesn't make us rascist. And I hang out with all kinds of dudes. Now yes, he is obviously an idiot and probably did go overboard with it. But we won't know for sure until this all unfolds. The real and biggest issue imo opinion with this whole race thing is that it is kept alive by major media and public figures that bank off of it. People get mad, and things get said. That's just how it is in this world. Doesn't make it right, but that's just how it is. But try not to take things and make something outta nothing... I mean, if you perceive it that way then that's how you see it but I think the example you pulled up was a reach

I read M Wallace noticed nothing amiss. That cements in my mind that JM had an agenda. If the NFL wasn't in his long range plans; why declare for the draft?

Was RI a classless buffoon who crossed a line in terms of speech? Yep.

On a tangent, Look at all the crap Egnew (same draft class as JM) went through yet he is starting to rise above.

No, that picture was taken when Martin "stole" Josh Samuda's car as a "prank"

Hence the reason incognito said "possible suspect"

Of all the comments, it's the Karlos Dansby one that makes me wonder. Karlos Dansby doesn't like the Dolphins organization. He was never afraid to speak his mind when he was here, publicly, and loudly.

Why would he take up for Incognito here? This whole situation is just weird. There is more here than "Richie is Hitler."
