Log jam at running back and tight end

My dream is that someone finally supplants Fasano as a starter for us. I know a lot of people here like him but he is nothing special in my book. I know he's a lock to make the team but I hope we see more of these other guys who can actually run on passing downs this season. As far as the RB's go no way do we get rid of Bush and if someone was going to get cut I'd put my money on it being Slaton or Messam.

RB: Bush/Thomas/Miller/Slaton
FB: Messam
TE: Fasano/Clay/Egnew/Miles
I agree with this except I think Miles will probably be practice squad. Did the new CBA increase the number of roster spots? That could make a big difference here.

I wouldnt be surprised to see Bush traded or cut. While Philbin seems excited to have him as a checkdown/wideout option, he will be making just under $5 million or so this season. Way to much for a situational player, even one as good as he is. This coaching staff is high on Slaton, Miller was just drafted, and Ireland isnt about to throw away Thomas after a single season. Unless Messam blows away the staff, hes destined to be cut.

As for tight end, those 3 are probably locks, but last years left overs are probably gone. Depending on how Brown does we might throw him on the practice squad(is he eligible for that?).

Are u joking about bush ? Wow

This is Bush's last season, and Lamar Miller will take over next year after he improves his blocking skills. Another name to keep an eye on is Jonas Gray, who was considered a top 3 running back if he hadn't tore his acl. The Dolphins have signed him, and told him they were going to be patient with him and allow him to heal up. I expect they will IR him this season and expect something from him next season.

Green Bay kept 5 TE's last year on their roster, so I expect 4 to make it. Eggnew, Clay, and Fasano are locks with either Mastrud or Yeatman battling for the last spot imo.

At RB I think we just keep 4. I think Slaton will be the odd man out unless he really outshines Miller in camp.

A few years ago on this site, Reggie Bush was no more than Lorenzo Booker. Now he's advanced slightly, a toss up with Steve Slaton.

The sage observer Mike Tyson said it perfectly: Everyone has a plan until they get hit. Likewise, Joe Philbin's glorious schemes have recently thrived under Brett Favre and particularly Aaron Rodgers. Once it's Matt Moore out there, or one of the newcomers at quarterback, there's a guaranteed period of startling ineffectiveness. Philbin will be forced to switch course more than he anticipates, and he'll be thrilled to have a supreme talent like Reggie Bush.

On the positive side, Lamar Miller may not be Reggie Bush but the reports of his shoulder and knee woes will prove to be overblown. Three years out of high school. Played only two years college football. Grass field. No one devastating blow that screamed a mangled shoulder, and not a huge number of touches. Local access and we traded up for him. I realize JCane is very tight to the Canes program and has good sources. But, as always, I don't believe in overreaction to recent form or recent reports as much as big picture logic. On top of everything I mentioned, only a tiny fraction of running backs are forced from the game based on shoulder problems.

reggie bush was one of the few bright spots on this team last year and some of you fools think that hes going to be cut or traded? wow

Those are the same people suggesting that Jake Long will be gone too....nuts

I think the coaching staff is kinda high on Slaton, they seemed to make it a priority to re-sign him in free agency. He does fit in with this style of offense, but maybe the Miller draft choice changed things.

they were high on slaton before they got lamar miller. Lamar miller changes everything, slaton best chance at makin a roster spot is beating out messan or w.e his name is. We keep 4 running backs bush/miller/thomas/messam or slaton which ever one is more impressive philbin keeps.

Aren't these great problems to have? :)

I mean we actually have WEAPONS now! Great job Ireland! I'm glad to see him draft with his own style. He might have just saved his image with the fans.

I'm on board with the philosophy that Reggie Bush is probably traded this year or gone next. I like the options we have at TE and RB. I think they will be the strength of the team for a while. Which is great to have when Tannehill finally steps onto the field.

One thing to note about Bush, it's a nice security blanket to have a veteran RB who can pick up blitzes. Also a handy skill set to have when developing a young QB.

reggie bush aint going no where, hes still in the prime of his career. Depending on his performance this year will have a big impact on whether ireland resigns him or not though. We are talking about a reggie bush, a 1st round pick going into the nfl, hes our best running back, period. Lamar miller can surpass him maybe but that is only speculation, reggie is still our best talent on this team.

How many more chances are we going to give Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore?

Neither makes the team.
