Softball guy? I don't even play softball....I play hockey..when I have the time. I also don't go to church....I'm a fullblood atheist (I'm sure that will bring some more bashing my way).

Rome lost all credibility in my mind when Everett pounded him. He always talks like a tough guy but that proved he is just a wuss. He didn't come close to being a "tough guy" like he tries to sound. He sux.

Well theres not much you can do when a professional athlete jumps at you. I like Rome because he's not afraid to criticize a player, and he's not like a lot of sports writers/commentators who just suck up to players.

Rome can be stupid and off based sometimes, but I think Jim Everett could have been the better man and just walked away from the interview.
 
Rome has hated the Dolphins ever since Nick Buonocotti was a no-show at an interview he tried to do with him a few years ago.


Ever since Nick didn't do that interview, Rome has busted the '72 team and anything related to the Dolphins every chance he gets. Basically, Rome is like a little kid that didn't get what he wanted so now he's acting like a brat.

If you listen to his show, you know he has the maturity level of a pre-teen, hyperactive egomaniac who forgot to take his meds.

Turn it over to ESPN Radio and listen to The Dan Patrick Show instead. Much more sports info and a lot less self-glorification.

Jim's takes and smack-talking clones are kind of weak, but Jim still does some good interviews and he will ask the questions that jerks and *** kissers like Dan Patrick won't ask.
 
my problem with jim rome is his radio show. here in orlando, we have basically one sports radio station to listen to. if there are any others, i don't get good reception. well, rome comes on weekdays between noon and 3pm, and it's the slowest part of my day. i didn't think he was so full of himself, until over the past few months, it's undeniable. the guy hypes his program like its the best thing on the air. with that format "the jungle" runs, i have to disagree. besides his interviews (which only book with him because he's syndicated), there's no reason to listen to this guy. i have no interest in listening to "smack" or the "smackoff". furthermore, i'm confident the show is formatted the way it is because rome doesn't want to field questions. he doesn't have the answers, so why would he? how did a guy that hasn't had any respected insight in the year i've been listening to him, get a syndicated show?

here's rome's only opinion, "don't be dumb". I swear, he makes more sense when he goes off on a tangent about anything unrelated to sports, which happens often on his show.

i do know how he fills 3 hours every weekday, however. he repeats himself a minimum of 5 times anytimes he says something he likes. and when he makes a funny... oh god, try to get him to shut up.

jim kisses just as much *** as dan patrick, but only if you visit his show. otherwise, be prepared to hear the ****-talking.

i put dan patrick and jim rome in the same boat of guys who think they're the hottest **** on the airwaves. you hit the nail on the head with the rest of what you said. i really can't bear them, but what else are you going to listen to in the middle of the day?
