Looking at FA for the all-important backup QB position

I like Dalton or Cousins if it’s cheap.

Winston is hot/cold and from a backup you want someone who’s going to come in and be steady… and prob the most expensive.

No issue if he plays for backup money. In his case 6-8 million per.

Wasn’t the worst defense… but close. Real close. I’ll go out on a limb and say if Ward gets any blocking at all, and his team has a run game, he might be offensive rookie of the year.

its actually a lot cheaper! Check Wilson's contract with the Steelers.. vet minimum is $1.2M per year.

It's why I believe Kirk will oddly be a hot commodity this offseason. Low Risk guy

Denver is still paying $35M of Wilson's contract in 2024

They pay an additional $49M of Wilson's contract in 2025

Whether some admit it or not, with 5-6 upgrades, Miami could be in the playoff hunt again. Fans also know how well the '23 and '24 backup QBs helped the team. I don't want to spend $1-15mm on a backup, but I don't want n ST or Huntley repeat nor do I want a snotty-nosed untested R4-5 rookie coming in to 'save' a game. Yeah, draft a rookie if they want, but get a backup vet who can win games.
 
J.G would be a great back up but I would also love to have Fields. Having Warren, Smith, Waddle, Tyreek and Achane on the field and the threat of Fields running would be exciting for the 6 games he'll get to start next year.

Rosen was brought in to be the chosen one. It cost us a High traded pick. Z. Wilson would be a cheap reclamation project, costing us a 6-7th rounder.

Huntley had us excited for 1 game against the abysmal Browns and unfortunately showed us who he really is vs the Jets. And I never want to hear Skylar's name spoken again within this organization..or Tim Boyle...or Mike White.

Out of this group, I'd be "interested" in order ( remember, these are backups :p )

1)Rush (will probably be the most expensive of this list?)
2)Flacco (best pure passer, don't know how he'd fare behind a bad OL)
3)Fields (would bring some excitement)
4)Rodgers (he's annoying but in 2 or 3 games, he could be valuable)
5)Cousins (old and slow but could be valuable in 2 or 3 games, cheap)
6)Dalton (see Cousins)
7)Winston (lots of TDs, and yards.. but also lots of INTs)
8)Dobbs (i like his mobility)
9)Wilson (moonball lol.. we're getting desperate at this point)

What about Jimmy G and Mariota? Please take Zach Wilson off this list. Don't want that assclown anywhere near the Dolphins.
