Looks like Miller is heading back to oakland

yeah we HAD to get zach miller b/c some ppl decided he was VITAL to the team on a message board. who knows what the dynamics of miller are = im sure that oakland was gong to resign him all along. just b/c clayton makes a reference on twitter does not mean miller was lobbying to come to miami. btw Fasano is a good TE we just need a second guy, and one of our prospects may wind up being that guy. the FO does know this which is why they brought martin back last year - just didnt work out - fasano had a great year in 08 with another competent TE and a QB that didnt overthrow him by 10 yards in the endzone for no reason. plus hes a solid blocker and his hands are pretty sure. ppl need to lay off fasano - and what they really need to do is lay off the reciever talk so much. we could use a 2nd TE but more important is interior OL and QB. . . even more depth at RB. i think ppl just like chasing names.

Do you have any hard info of this? It sounds like you're assuming? Seeing as how a dolphin rep was asked about the rumor of having interest in Miller that floated around for a day or so, and he said that neither Miller nor his agent had ever been contacted by the team, that sounds like proof to me.

It could be misinformation, but I'm willing to go with the averages and say that the FO felt Fasano was the man for the job and there was no reason to go after a TE that everyone else says would be an upgrade for us, you know since they have been so dead on with all of their past decisions

um? arent you assuming? assuming that there was a possibility miller had any chance of going to miami? what proof do u have. Twitter is so silly sometimes. one comment by incarceratedIDIOT or a comment that miami COULD afford miller and its a full fledged "rumor" - in reality it had no validty.

And here is a crazy thought since no team went after Miller hard.... maybe he did not want to leave Oakland and everyone knew that Oakland was going to pay him to stay since he wanted to. Of course that is our FO fault I imagine.

And on second thought, that sounds like a situation that just happened recently with a little known receiver named Plaxico something......... I wonder how that situation ended. With him going back to his team, right?? Right?

Everyone has a price especially when we have south beach. It's not like we are trying to pimp buffalo...

Ok, that very well may be the case and may account for Miller but what the heck happened with Heap? If Miller is definitely staying with Oakland, then that puts a lot of emphasis onto Heap, who was the other significant TE available this year. Although we will never know all of the details, I certainly never heard a peep about us inquiring about bringing him to Miami. WTF? What's left now? Scaife? Not horrible but not a whole lot better, if any, than Fasano.

Aside from all of that, if he hasn't inked the deal then you still have a shot and can at least put something strong in front of his agent who doesn't give a crap about his own family, much less the Raider family. Didn't the players just spend the past 5 months telling all of us how evil the owners were and now Miller is going to sit on the sidelines, bypassing multiple multi-million dollar offers, so that he can remain part of the Raiders "family" based upon the promises of a big, new contract from an old, senile man that Miller and his chums, as I just mentioned, just got done bashing in the media as greedy old liars! Sounds like a fantastic plan! Glad I am not in business with this guy!

I don't speak to any incarcerated people........ I'm just kidding, no disrespect. But seriously, that was a short rumor that warranted a local reporter to ask a team rep about it. I'm pretty sure it was actually ESPN who reported the rumor, or it ended up being an assumption of Schefter or something like that. Point is, the rumopr wasn't the focal point, it was the response. And that the rep responded by saying that no one from Miller's team had been contacted.

Like I said, it could have been misinformation, but in this day and age it's hard to keep anything under wraps, and if you remember the little coaching search SNAFU we had earlier in the year, I'm willing to bet we are especially bad at keeping info under cover.

I think some of you fail to understand the importance of a vertical TE in the maturation of a young struggling qb. Maybe since we have the ultimate chalkboard nightmare in bush that means teams will all of a sudden forget how to cover fasano. Even then since d-lineman have a faster 40 time than him basically you don't have to cover him anyway ...

Thank you, that was my point. I have never heard of teams completely avoiding a legit talent because they are "sure" that they will resign with their team. I think the Giants were pretty sure Plax would go back to them, and guess what, he went after the money. You're telling me that Zach Miller is so in love with the RAIDERS, that he wouldn't even listen to the interest of a team that so desperately needs his talent??? I don't think so.......

seriously, there is no excuse to this. I just can't understand what this FO is thinking on a daily basis. As someone above already said, it's an easy decision. You have Anthony freaking Fasano as your only TE worth even a penny, and he's barely worth that. Although I will say it's a little strange that no one has even sniffed Miller (at least of what we know), but this is a completely 100% no-brainer decision. Go get freaking Zach Miller.

it's almost like the FO wants to prove that they know more than everyone else. "Oh yea, you think Tedd Ginn is over-rated? We'll show you"....... "Is that right, Pouncey is living off the rep of his brother and doesn't deserve a 1st round grade? We'll see"..........

I'm so sick and tired of them being brain dead. They do exactly the opposite of what makes sense and what would really help the team. Some will say that they get paid to do their job and I'm just a fan on the outside, but guess what, I have results to back me up. Or should I say lack of results. I have had season tickets for I think 6 years now, and I have had to deal with a 1-15 season, and then again last year losing every home game, save 1 pathetic "win" where we sucked less than the titans.

It's disgusting, they are disgusting........ why couldn't I be obsessed with some other team? "But we got a real good 4th string D-Lineman"......... freaking retarded idiots

you dont have to "deal" with anything...simple

I just know that before the lockout ended and everything that Zach Miller was a guy that no one thought was leaving Oakland. Maybe we could have found a price high enough to make him want to leave since maybe he has that price, but you can't give a guy millions more then he is worth. Also of note is that no one went after Miller so that makes it seem like the teams knew something since he is a great TE. Not sure what Plaxico has to do with this I never heard he was def staying in NY, it was always NY or Pitt with Philly as an option. The Jets got burned by Nnamdi and the price for Moss was more then they wanted to spend so they guaranteed Plax more then everyone else. If we went for a WR it should be a speed guy to compliment what we have. I certainly would be all for getting more speed and improving TE, but Miller was never a true option.

More than likely nobody wanted to get into a bidding war with crazy al davis...

dude stop sayin no ones gone after miller...you don't know that...he may just be waiting for oakland to settle some other things and see what kind of offer they make

but stop with the he's got no market angle

And on the other side of my bi-polarness, I agree with everything you're saying. maybe except the Plax part. I think other teams had a chance, but it was minutes away from being the Giants, who everyone thought he would go to in the first place, but a last second effort by Rex and his people got the job done.

Just saying that I really doubt the reason no one seemed to have interest was cause they were "sure" he would go back to Oakland. WAY too many times, that belief has been wrong and a sleeper team comes in with a big offer. Listen, if you read my posts, I usually don't agree with the "Get this guy" or "get that guy" posters, but I really think they should have gone after Miller. I guess the argument could be made that there have been a lot of sucessful teams without a good TE, but with the way this team is set up, and our QB who relies on his safety blanket way too much, it seems just logical to me that Miller would be a priority, even if you over pay a bit for him.

Now about other teams not showing interest, I have to give you that argument. I really don't understand it, but I just have a really hard time believing that every other team that might have been interested in him just assumed they couldn't do anything to convince Miller to leave the Raiders.
