Looks like we're rebuilding, NOW do you want to draft Brady Quinn?

i guess i may be the only one who disagrees that we're in rebuild mode .. i mean that would totally contradict the "win now!" attitude our owner wanted .. i mean just because we're trying to stock pile draft picks doesn't mean we're rebuilding .. just means that the coach and GM see the mess that they've inherited and are trying to fill as many holes as possible with it .. even if it means letting go of our shining lights from our team .. i;d love it if we pulled a playoff team out of our backsides

In order to "win now" the Dolphins need better players. Hence the recent cuts and pending trades.

Oh he** ya!!! It's all about winning every game we take the feild to play but when you have a team that is so weighted down with rotten stinking contracts that are eating up the life of the team something radical has to be done!!! And it's not about size of contract, JT is worth more than he is getting and his contract is huge. But when you have guys like Carter and Wilkinson and Chambers and Mcmichael and Mare who are being grossly overpaid it takes its toll.

If New Olans is really interested in McMichael, we should offer them Mare as well and throw in the 6th we got from Denver and make them give us their 2nd rounder. There will be really good OL talent in the late 2nd round.

Brandon Pace is as constant as the Northern Star, a real Vinateri type kicker and he can be had in the 7th.

I would love Quinn.........but if LaRon Landry is available at #9....I DEFINATELY wouldnt complain about that! I may even have to say I may be leaning towards Landry! lol

Its become apparent that we are going to try to stock pile picks....if we get a 2nd rounder for Wes Welker that will certainly help. I think we would and will trade up for someone..especially if we have two 2nd round picks because it would probably take our first, 2nd, and a player to do so

Whos rebuilding? We still have the core players that have made the most contributions to this team the past few years and now we are weeding out some extras and looking for playmakers in the draft. We lose Carter and roth move in his place, I don' t see any drawbacks to that. Wilkonson gone, insert youth with Evans and Wright, hopefully both. Works for me.. No Morris, no Welker, insert marcus vick and Ricky, maybe another 3rd down back later on in draft, really like Garret Wolf with our 4rth. No Barnes, I'd rather run R&R all the time. Hopefully Toledo and Alibi can fill that left side void otherwise we do it in the draft and i have faith in houck and Cameron to work it out. I say its the beginning to a new and improved season

Over the past few weeks, some people here that didn't want us to draft Quinn (or at least, didn't want to move up to draft him) used as their reasoning that Culpepper was the better short-term answer. Meaning, if we had any chance of winning next season, it would be w/ 'Pepper at the helm, rather than a rookie.

Now that it at least - appears - that we are in rebuilding mode (who knows for sure!), does this change anyone's opinion? Assuming we are rebuilding, it'll take about three years to get where we want to go, leaving now injury plagued Culpepper three years older by then. If that's the case, do we sell the house to get Brady at all costs now?

I'm for Brady no matter what, but I'd like to know if anyone has changed their minds now, given recent events.

I have a suspicion that Cam and Mueller are targeting Quinn and have been for the past month. They just don't know how far they will have to move up to get him (if at all). Minnesota is the team that worries me the most.

I think the consensus is we're rebuilding, but - of course - they are going to try to make us as competitive as possible next season too. I'm calling it rebuilding because of our OL. Just who is going to play LT? Shelton? :fire:

W/ Dielman off the menu, too, I just don't see how we are going to build a quality line for next season. That's what worries me.

But - generally - when you start letting players go, and cutting veterans (some of whom have contributed nicely), they call it rebuilding mode. McIntosh is a great example. He's not the best LT out there, but he was average-to-slightly-above average for us last season. He'd at least be a decent LT next season. Letting him go says "let's move on and build" to me.

For the record, I'm not necessarily against rebuilding - especially if it's Mueller that is rebuilding us!

Houston is more likely to draft Quinn than Detroit. They have no faith in Carr and if they don't pick up anyone in FA, it would make sense. Leave Carr in to start the season, then put the rookie in when Carr does his usual sub-par performance.

Detroit will not pick Quinn, IMO.

I think Detroit either takes Quinn or Calvin Johnson.

It looks like the Texans are quite willing to stick with Carr and I can still see them trading for Jake Plummer's rights.

No. Quinn is not worth a trade up but if he is there at 9, fine.

I'm not leaning one way or the other...I don't like giving picks away, specially now we got some at last...on the other hand we have been waiting to get a great QB since Dan left and Quinn could be that guy...I have no problem taking him at 9...if we have to move up for him I'd be willing to do it but without giving away very much....at the most a 3rd and that's it.

Ozzy rules!!

At what point did anyone say anything about rebuilding? We've dropped some players who haven't lived up to their contracts and had to part ways with Wes because the $$$ he was offered was too high, plus the extra picks would go to good use. Nobody should be surprised that we're making offensive moves, even if it's limited to dropping dead weight at the moment. Getting extra DP' just makes sense, considering how badly this team needs players for the future still.

We are rebuilding, clearly we are. Not a massive overhaul, but we are rebuilding, at least on the offensive side.
Quinn should be our #1 target, he could be the next Peyton. However, seems some people are wizing up to him after the Russell post-bowl win fad. Hey Jamarcus, heres a hint-showing up at the combine the way you did is the best way to lose millions of dollars.

BTW, Houston is NOT sold on Carr. They have been unable to get a veteran replacement and that scares me. They have been shiping him around, just hasnt been much interest. Also, Dunta Robinson called him out on TV and basically said he didnt get the job done and should be traded. Never a good thing to have the best player on your team speaking against you.
