Lynch may be put on IR

Oh great! Bracket come on down!!!

I don't think he was ready to be a serious contributor this year anyway. Redshirt him this year, open up a roster spot.

I'm ok with Claymaker, Sims, Brackett and Gator

Pulling for Gator.

It'd be SUPER cool if we have FOUR UDFAs make the 53. (D-Will, Gator, Johnson, McCain)

That's three receiving tight ends and only one that can block. If Miami keeps four tight ends I would think it would be two of each skill sets. I think you could cut Brackett and still put him on the practice squad, I don't think there will be a rush of teams trying to snag him.

The good teams put young guys and rookies who aren't going to contribute their rookie or second year on IR. It's smart if a guy won't stick on PS. This keeps a spot for Hoskins to stick. Good move. Ted Larsen, Matt Hazel, Garrison Smith or AJ Francis, Walt Aikens, are all guys that you could think of stashing on IR.

Watching that catch by Gator last night and him stretching the ball over the goal line he looked like a veteran Tight End. He look quick and athletic. Good hands too.

And Brackett may survive to make the 53 initially but then I think we claim a Tight End on waivers and he'll be a goner.

I seem to remember the Dolphins having an interest in Emil Igwenagu when he came out (under Jeffy, obviously, so take it with a grain of salt). He's a similar body type to Clay, a FB/TE hybrid. He spent the last two years with Philly and was just cut by them, so he has familiarity with the system (and with Lazor, obviously).

Hoskins is another guy in the same mold and obviously picked a pretty good time to make a big play in a preseason game. Brackett is just sort of meh. The league is full of tight ends just like him. Then again Lynch going out means we're down to exactly one tight end who can even kinda block, and that's Sims. At the end of the day, though, those guys aren't as tough to find, though they're getting tougher. More and more of them are getting moved to OT in college.

Brackett's looked pretty good but most likely just because he made the easy catches Egnew would have dropped. Agree we need another blocker in the group so he's not a given to be on the 53. Lets see who gets cut.
Gator did what gator does. Score TD's. He had 99 catches at Marshall and 28 were for touchdowns. He's one for one as a Dolphin.

That is probably best, as he would be a waste of a roster spot at this point...

I think we are underplaying Clays blocking.. He is not a great inline blocker but he can put a hat on a guy
