I could see this "Czar" idea happening. I am not opposed to it. Carl Peterson gets bashed around here, but he has been successful in the past. Dan Marino would be interesting in this spot as well. Marino is connected and could find a competed GM and might attract quality HC candidates. At the same time, would Ross be bold and go for a six time Executive of the Year in Bill Polian to be such a Czar.

I urge people to listen to the following with Joe Rose interviewing Bill Polian. Great interview.

With that said, the Fins need to start anew in many ways and find proper direction for many ways.

If I happened to be the owner, I would make myself the Czar, but educated myself on the business of football and hire quality people to run the team. With that said, Ross is not there yet or does not have the confidence to do so. If that is the case, the Czar path might be best for this team.

Whether he is right or wrong. I would never take advice from a reporter.

In my opinion, we should let the rest of the remaining 2013 schedule play out before we start tearing down walls.

It's a pity Nicholas II of Russia is not available. He had hands on experience working as a Czar and is probably younger than Bill Polian. Nick passed on his learnings and imperial style to Bill Parcells.

If the owner wants to start cleaning up the mess he only has to look in the mirror to know where to start.

I think we need to let the investigation play out. We don't yet know that there really IS a problem with the Dolphins organization. All we really know is that an immature and perhaps selfish player walked out. Everyone already knew what we had in Incognito, although I think everyone hoped he'd grown up a bit more by this time, including our coaching staff and Ireland. As far as this season is concerned, I don't think we want to think about significantly changing the operations of the team until we are certain it is, indeed, a losing one. The Dolphins may yet win the friggin division, for heavan's sake.

Fans have a right to be concerned for the team right now seeing as Ross as an NFL team owner is so far out of his element.

The input from the advisory team he has put together should be a big help to him going forward.

Perterson in a 'czar' role may happen but in any event you can bet that the Dolphins will be a different (and better) team in 2014..

I certainly hope Armando is not on the short list of people Ross is listening to.

Not because he is a reporter, but because he is a ****ing clown.

Well, if I was the owner and was to go this path, I would put that individual in place now.
He may be able to start having some chats with the agents of FAs that we should be keeping on the roster

This team is not coached well. The are wildly inconsistent. Sometimes flat to start. Struggle to keep leads. Little in the way of creativity. There is a striking inability to develop players overall. They simply underachieve in general. Couple this with the impending investigation, they have to start fresh with a new staff.

At the start of the year, I wanted Joe and his staff to come back for a 3rd year no matter what...maybe a 4th year. That has all changed with the course of events. Do I think he is at fault for the Martin ****? No. However, he has become a toxic asset. Too bad really, but the team has to turn the page.

I'm closer to this now. I've always of the opinion coaches should get three years. Well, after what
I've seen this year I don't think Philbin needs to come back. It's not "leadership", it's player development,
and like you said, the way the team plays the game. Sometimes strong, sometimes not. Lots of the time
coming out with no heart, or a bad scheme.

Let's see what happens. How will we feel if we finish with 10 wins and a wildcard birth?

Ain't gonna happen. It also doesn't excuse not being able to beat a winless Tampa team
with 10 days off, or not being able to beat a 4th string QB and a bad Buffalo team. Not to
mention not being able to wipe the floor with ANYONE.

I can't understand how anyone can come to the conclusion that the Miami Dolphins should have a unique structure, different from all other NFL teams based on the Martin fiasco...

or based on ANYTHING.

Is the problem that the head coach and GM are not doing the same quality job as ALL OTHER NFL TEAM management?

No way, there is nothing to indicate that. No matter how unpopular Ireland is, the team has talent is always competitive and he is the one who put it together.

The only glaring inadequacy I see with Dolphins management, is that the owner feels the need to constantly comment to the media & meddle.

Any changes made by an owner who is completely oblivious to NFL history & culture, and that would be unique to the Dolphins will only further handicap this team.
