Mando: Farmer Leading Candidate

I just hope that the Dolphins do a thorough job in the interview process and get the best one available.

It looks as if they are being very thorough...something we need.

Didn't Licht get started in the Dolphins org as a scout, and didn't we consider him in 2005 or so?

He was a scouting assistant in the mid 90s in Miami. He has been associated with successful teams in Philly, NE and Arizona. I like that he has time on the scouting side which is an advantage over Farmer.

Here are three articles on Ray Farmer, for those who are interested. All worth reading:

When you dig into these candidates you can really see who Ross is relying on for support with each guy.

Farmer was brought to Kansas City by Carl Peterson, for example. Lake Dawson was drafted by Peterson back in the day. There's also a heavy Philadelphia Eagles contingent, enough that I wonder whether Ross and Joe Banner (now of the Browns, but who spent many years with the Eagles) are friends. Ross and Licht have both worked for the Eagles. Farmer was hired to the Chiefs from the Eagles. Obviously there was that early interest in Tom Gamble, formerly and now currently with the Eagles.

Licht also spent a bunch of years with the Patriots, as did Lionel Vital. I'm thinking this is the Eric Mangini connection, who worked with the Pats when both guys were there. Ross is obviously very close with Mangini.

None would do that with me. RT @CarlosAVecino: who would you rather have a beer with. Joe, Dawn or Jeff.

Lmao, you should see some of the ignorant stupidity about Farmer on Facebook from the lowest common denominator fans. 'He was with the Browns, he sucks!' Some real bright lights on some of those Facebook groups. I swear, some people should be forced to pass a thorough exam to follow sports.

The truth is none of us really know but to dismiss someone that people know nothing about is asinine.

The Brownie's? That perennial powerhouse? Didn't we beat them this year? Didn't they do even worse than we did? I don't like this too much...

Look past the team and look at the person. He impresses.
