IMO, bringing in the NFL does 3 things:
1) it will lend credence to the idea that the Dolphins acted aggressively once notified, if this goes to court.
2) it will provide an impartial security team to gather evidence as to whether Dolphin management was made aware of these things earlier. From what I have read in the past, NFL security is manned by top notch ex-law enforcement types. I'm thinking someone is going through email archives right now. Further, team phone records, including texts, have been requested.
3) if anyone in Dolphins management knew about this and didn't act, they can be fired with cause and the contract will be nullified.
