Mando's open letter to Philbin

I can not believe the way some of the people on here go on and on about how Philbin is clueless. They keep saying "how could he not know what was going on". He didn't know anything was going on because there was nothing going on. There were a bunch of guys breaking each other's balls and there was one guy that did not know how to handle it and who never let anyone know that he was uncomfortable with it. That is it. Everyone in the locker room that saw how the guys involved in the so called scandal interacted everyday didn't think there was anything sinister going on so why would Philbin? That is why everyone in the organization keeps intimating that the scandal was overblown. Because it was. The only person that believed there was a problem was Johnathan Martin and he never let anyone else, other than his mother, know how he felt.

Totally agree. Where it took a wrong turn is when the PC media got a hold of the story and sensationalized it into a bully story. Really? A twenty-something year old man getting bullied? What is this pre-school?

I can't believe you just wrote that! So Armando represents you? Omar represents you? Wow. And this in the age of twitter and al kinds of social media.

Represents me? No. I said fans get information through them. If you cut off the media, you're also cutting off the fans. But I suppose you could add this as a qualifier if it makes you more comfortable: "unless we have an inside source on the team."

I don't bother with twitter. Way too much to sift through to find anything of any value. And I don't think you're any more or less likely to get the truth from a twitter source even if it's a player. Everything gets filtered through personal opinions whether the person delivering the message wears pads for a living or uses a word processor for a living.

I could care less what Joe has to say about the bullying saga. I want him focusing on making this team better not worrying about speaking to the media all the time.

Even Bill Belicek had the courage to face the media after Aaron Hernandez was arrested for first degree murder. Are all of you who gave Daytona Fin a thumbs up for his post really proud of the fact that our head coach does not have the same courage that Belicek showed in standing before the press?? Not only does Philbin's 15-17 record raise questions about his competence but now it appears he may also have a streak of cowardice. First Ireland, now Philbin. Way to choose winners Mr. Ross.

You know Philbin already had a press conference on this matter during the season right? How many press conferences did Belichick have on the Hernenez case? I seem to recall it was one and I think he even stated during it that it would be the last time he would speak on the matter.

You have a valid point about the press conference during the season -- I had forgotten about that. However, all he said at the time was that he wouldn't say anything until the NFL investigation was finished. Well, it has been finished and we are all waiting for him to show some leadership.
