Manning, Moore and Tannehill...the Fins perfect 3-Pack

I have no idea if Peyton Manning is or ever will be 100%, but if he is here is what I consider the perfect way to solve our QB issues.
1. Sign Manning if he is healthy and available. Yes he will only be around for 2 or 3 years, but he makes us an instant contender,will put fannies in the seats (Ross knows this) and we gain instant respect and credibility. Again this is if he proves to be healthy and can regain his strength in his throwing arm.
2. Retain Matt Moore. I believe he has one year left on his contract and is a great insurance policy if Manning goes down. Did some good things in the time he played last year.
3. Draft Tannehill. My ideal scenario would be to trade down, pick up another pick, and grab Tannehill. I would love to get him in round 2, but by all accounts he will go in round one. We can then sure up the O-line, TE, or whatever defensive position they feel they want to sure up. Sherman seems to like Tannehill.
Under this scenario, A. WE ARE INSTANT CONTENDERS, B. WE HAVE OUR QB OF THE FUTURE WHO GETS TO STUDY UNDER THE MASTER FOR A FEW YEARS, AND C. MATT MOORE IS A NICE INSURANCE POLICY SHOULD MANNING'S ARM FALL OFF.

That's exactly what I'd do if we got Manning. Tannehill is really raw, but he has potential.
 
I could live with that, or Matt Flynn, Matt Moore and Tannehill.
 
I would like it if Manning was healthy, but he is to high of a risk.

I would love to go into the season with Moore, Tannehill and Devlin. Three young prospects that should pan out for us. I still like Devlin a lot.
 
I'd rather save the cap room spent on Manning for Mario Williams, if we are dreaming big here.
 
well the question in that scenario is cap room, drafting a Qb in the first round has got to cost a few bucks, and not to mention what we would have to pay Matt Flynn, and who knows how much Peyton will cost even if he renegotiates his contract if he is healthy he is going to have to be paid accordingly...I like your plan, but I don't know if we can afford it.

I don't see how Matt Moore would beat out Flynn. If they sign Flynn, they are bringing him in to be the starter. Plus he would know the offensive system better than Moore.
 
Wrote this in one of the other Tannehill threads a few days back: "The perfect scenario for me would be to sign Manning, trade back to draft Tannehill in the 1st and TE Fleener in the 2nd, and get some help for the right side of the off line in FA and in the 3rd/4th rounds. Cut Bell and Fasano, sign reggie Nelson. My dream offseason!!!"
so, needless to say, i completely agree with the OP.

Maybe because MOORE's a better QB. I agree on that.

FLYNN played for LSU and GB. As long as football is a team game, it matters who your "friends" are. I wonder how FLYNN would look playing behind MIAMI's OL, w/COLUMBO-CAREY protecting his right side? We don't have to go into "weapons" (GB's vs MIAMI's), do we?

And what makes you think Moore is a better QB? What proof do you have of that?

Personally, I'd prefer the Flynn, Moore Tannehill combo. That assumes both Philbin and Sherman endorse their respective past qb's. That way, you maximize your chances of having your franchise qb of the future on the roster. Flynn knows the system and would be a player coach on the field. If nothing else, he'll get the rest of the team up to speed the fastest. I know he has a small sample of work, but he has played at a high level in 2 more NFL games than Luck or RG3!

LOVE Peyton, but at this point, he is no more a certainty than the others to be able to play at a high level, and at best he plays for 2-3 more years. Then we're right back where we started, looking for a young future franchise QB. There's a risk/projection/leap of faith with each of these qb's; there's just a lot less long term upside to gambling on Peyton.
