Many of you continue to say corners are not needed

^^^^ Bingo.

Daniels will play a large role.

Thats not good.

4th round rookie playing a large role?

I mean, i know he knows the system, but this is the NFL, not college.

I think I remember reading a couple of months ago that Atkins most likely will not be returning due to his injury...

But, I'd like to make the point that Saban's deepest background is in the secondary...If there are guys that can play, he'll find them and then put them in a scheme to be able to play...

The issue of the CBs is that after Howard and Madison we have little playing experience, as has been pointed out...with the Safeties...other than Jones, there is some starting experience in Tillman, but not successful starting experience. Most of us like the things that Bell has shown, but will he be the type of player that Saban wants...I tend to think so, but....stranger things have happened...The safety position is VERY much in doubt right now, as far as the starters and how they'll do. The CB position is not in as much doubt, except for nickel and dime spots. Remember too, that Daniels has played both spots for Saban and could fill in the nickel or dime slot as well. There will be several very interesting areas to watch during the upcoming camps...the secondary, QB, and OL...how Saban utilizes the LBs and DL, going to be fun...

You are talking about a fluke. How often do players come in and perform like that.

COULD it happen, sure. Does it happen alot, no.

maybe but if not = trouble there are not many Randall....

i thought bell had a start last season. i must be mistaken. still just one :).

pfffffffft. I said +/- 2 or 3 games. I thought Edwards and Freeman started all games last year.

Mario Edwards was an NFL starter.... we can go 3 deep at CB with starting experience. Im not worried about CB. Teams ALWAYS have rookies and youngsters gaining experience in nickel/dime roles.

Safety we have one starter in Jones. FS is a HUGE question mark.

Who are gonna be the Bills corners this year.. Other than Clements, you have Mcgee(4th), Greer(UD), Thomas(6th), and 4 rookies.. Are you guys looking into signing Ty Law or just playing these Rookies..

You have a point

yeah, I start a lot of threads. Some are redundant. Sorry about that. Probably just lazy at the time. Sometimes when you read threads words they stand on themselves and a reader would not know the emotional affect of the person sending the thread. So in such situations without visual cues words can be defined as over-dramatic, panic ridden, or overused in general. Most of the threads I send have little emotion to them. I am very analytical and occassionally will vent, but for the most part do not. I do have tendencies to overstate need. Such is the case with the corner position. The guys who have pointed out the experience issue with the safety position are right on. Big issue and area of concern, but Saban himself has pointed to the corner situation and the DT situation. He must have confidence in his teaching ability at safety. He has the numbers, which he does not have at corner. One or two training camp injuries and this team will be looking for a Randall Gay.

It takes all kinds of posters on a message board to get the entertainment value. You will have the comedians, the nay sayers, the critical types, and those who overstate. Makes the world go round. I really don't take it that seriously.

For me its just that fact that you have started the same thread like 3 times. To me even with the injury to Poole, I think our CB's are fine, many teams have 1 good corner and then a bunch of younger players. The Bills corners are even younger than ours, atleast 2 have been previous year long starters in the NFL (Howard, Edwards)..

Green Monster

Green Monster,

The repetitious threads are a true sign of my obsessive compulsive nature combined with being bored. I will try to do better. I am one of those guys that buys the pro football weekly pre and post draft publications and marks off all the players listed at a postion that gets drafted or signed as a free agent. If I see guys still on the list I wonder who will get them. Bigby and Elam are just two of the guys that were left that I would focus on. I get caught up in the underdog, hidden gem stuff. Generally meaningless stuff in the scope of life.
