I wholeheartedly agree.

I mentioned in another thread that we've selected 1st time head coaches and GMs for the past ten years. (I know people will argue Parcells, but he really did jack ****.)

Can we call that experiment over already? Yet, I can see arguments of why people may not want a retread coach.

Look every coach gets fired. Even the great ones. Shula by Baltimore, Belichick by Cleveland. Look at what Andy Reed has done this year. Or what Coughlin has done up in NY.

We don't just need to return this franchise to respectability.

We damn well need to restore some credibility.

Bringing in up and comers don't give us that.

Shula wasn't fired by Baltimore. The Dolphins were charged with tampering and had to give a 1st round pick to the Colts over it.

Interesting candidate. Young with an ivy league pedigree who has had a considerable amount of responsibility for some time now. The interview makes a lot of sense and is the kind of thing that gives me hope about the directions this search is taking. Where the Giants are right now is of course troubling and his drafts have been hit and miss, but he's definitely worth looking at.
