Marino had to beg Manning to interview with Dolphins

So Philbin is nothing but a "yes man"?

Ross seems like he really needs to get laid. Dude old man, go after the cheerleaders, you know stay in your lane. Get it wet with some hotties. Forget about football for a while

Peyton's in his last years ... his AGENDA is Fame & Glory (not money, everyone will pay him top dollar)

If you look at Miami's situation, record, & holes ... we don't meet Peyton's Agenda. Far from it.

You have to filter the media with common sense & football sense ... media's agenda is stir up speculation for viewership & make money ... little to do with real football analysis & reality (that doesn't make money)!! I seldom watch sports TV ... no "real" football!!!! (its just talking-head speculative prattle & gossip).

That's just the way it is.

and millions of football fans laugh around the world

- the never ending laughing stock that is the Miami Dolphags franchise

Look at it this way! We love our Dolphins for better or for worse! **** Peyton Manning and his Red Neck family. He'll need his ARP card soon.

Manning= A Old Effin HaS Been

Yep, and id still take him in heartbeat!!!

Ross pursuing Manning heavily, was the worst thing he has done so far, in my opinion.

Why do I say this? Rewind time back to before the Colts released Manning.

- Dolphin fans were optimistic and feeling really good about our new HC Philbin and all the staff he brought with him.
- For our QB situation, we mostly talked about signing Flynn or drafting RG3/Tannehill

This was enough for us. We were feeling good about Flynn if Philbin likes him, or drafting a QB.

Fast Forward to Ross leaking to all media outlets that the Dolphins are "all in" for Manning, that we could get Manning-Wayne or Manning-Garcon type of combos to pair up with Marshall, etc... This public courting was horrible. Marino had to convince Manning to even meet with us.
So, Manning turns us down, and we move away from Marshall, and suddenly the world is coming down, we have to "settle" for Flynn, or Tannehill, and none of this is good enough anymore.

This is all on Ross' feet. He played with and ruined the emotions of the fanbase with yet another very public failed campaign.

Dysfunction is the word, but based on that, I am not sold that Philbin is a quality head coach anyway.

He does not command any presence at all.

Seriously, the best thing that Stephen Ross can do is sell the team to a football mind owner who cares for the Dolphins and wants to build on their legacy.

How and what the Dolphins did and treated Marino is unforgivable, and its no wonder he doesn't want any part in coaching or with this team.

Guys/Gals, its very sad. And Flynn is not the answer either.

He's been a complete disaster with Jennifer Lopez and others buying shares in the team, when Jennifer can't even keep her own marriage bonds together.

The Sparano hiring and Parcells hiring was another huge mistake.

Just get braced for another let down, and I wont mention the Marshall debacle, we'll replace him in the draft or free agency.

d-1

I understand your frustration, but to Ross credit, he didn't hire fat ass Parcells and Meatball. Good ol' Wayne did that ****.

Yeah that 1 qb named non winning playoff games Matt Ryan. Other than that you can't really throw anything on JI at the qb spot. Building a team from dust is no easy task. Especially when the contenders have a 5 year head start + a franchise qb in place...

Pat White & Chad Henne ? Both drafted by Ireland and both failed.

How do you know? Because it was reported? Did Marino say it was true? I'm asking who was the source? You can't just believe any thing that gets reported , you can agree with me on that right?

I saw a interview the other day where Marino confirmed he was asked by the Dolphins to chat with Manning. This was reported a week ago. Its the having to beg Manning to meet with us that is new - and it looks legit since the meeting had no Ross or Ireland and was the only one in Indy. Manning made it very obvious with that we were not on his list.

The fact he didn't want to even meet with Ross & Ireland is just revealing in itself. Ross has a lot of bridge building in the football world.

we all know how to end it , stop going to the games and quit buying NFL sunday ticket .and when theres no money coming in to them , or way less then they might open there eyes and start putting peices in place for us to win.

the fans stopped going to games last year....or didn't you notice ? even the Jets game had the lowest attendance in years and even was missing a lot of Jet fans there as well.

I don't ever remember the team making a statement about how they were close to signing Manning. If I recall correctly it was the media and so called "sources" that kept saying we were still in it.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

Why'd they even agree to the meeting then ? Because think of the backlash had they not even gotten the Indy interview. They begged Manning for that to save some face. I'm sure Philbin didn't realize what he was stepping into, or he'd have ever come here.

eff Manning

Manning deserves ZERO crap thrown at him in this. Its his right to see or not see anyone he wants too.

Its about the fact that the reputation of the Dolphins sooooooooo low that we had to reach out to one of our former superstars to even get a chance for a meeting with Manning so we could save what little face we have left with the fan base (that is dwindling) here in Miami.

Sports media is just noise and should always be ignored. I'd trust a groundhog's shadow before any of those clueless idiots. The problem here is this idea that Miami was never an option. There's no reason for it not to have been an option unless there's something repellent about the organization. The situation should have made us a frontrunner.

Exactly.....Manning wanted nothing to do with us, neither did Fisher or Harbaugh.

Wkae up and get a clue folks its not them, its US !!!!!!!

again I must repeat, this is not about Manning, this is about the lack of good reputation our front office has.
