Marino's feelings tword the fins

please dont take this as a insult or anything like that. i really am curious.
but i have been wondering this for a while. (you have to ignore the bills flag)

we can all agree that marino was a great QB. and most people say that he never won a super bowl becuase he didnt have a team around him. no WRs, no RBs, no O-Line... ok.

but he was in the league for a LONG time. and through all those years he never really had a good supporting cast.

so do you think, looking back on his carrer with the fins, that he feels the fins organization, GM, owner...ect, are responsible for not giving him a team, and inturn keeping him from getting a SB ring? and keeping him from being the widly accepted "greatest ever"? (i know many think he is the greatest, but many sports writers disagree).
:couch:

i dont want to start a "he was the greatest because..." threads.

but, what do you think??

I don't think Dan is bitter at all. He complimented our franchise/fans a bit and even mentioned how the Miami Dolphins are an extension of him. I think he truely loves this franchise, and it's very hard to find a player who is that loyal and still after retirement dedicated to the Fins success. I hope to see him involved in the organization sometime in the future.

The team had plenty of chances over the years even with a poor running game and average defense. Losing at home in the AFC championship to the Bills as well as losing up there in the '90 playoffs after going 12-4 that season. But face it, the Bills were the second best team in the league for several years back then. They hardly ever lost unless it was in the SB. They were a complete team and we weren't.

The '93 season when Dan tore his achilles would have been special. They started out on fire with KJ, Byars, Ingram, Fryar, Kirby, etc. That offense would have been incredible and they kept winning even after Dan went down with Mitchel and Deberg, but losing Offerdahl, Oliver and Vincent on defense killed that team. Had they remained healthy I think that would have been a SB year. The next year Dan returned but we also lost Kirby and Byars early on for the whole season. Still, it was a blown FG by Stoyo against SD that kept the team from playing in the AFC championship that season.

There were many chances but things just didn't work out.
