Now that he's no longer the HC at UGA...does anybody in here think he'd be a good QB Coach or OC in the NFL?

He will probably be contacted by the Canes search committee who are doing interviews but who knows what his future plans are.
He may want to jump right back in and he'll probably get lots of interest but then again might want to take some time off.

I don't think he's ever coached at the pro level and not sure he'd even want to.

Good football mind. Extremely organized.

Richt will ONLY be a Head Coach....NFL or College. QB Coach...what the Hell you talking about? !

He is a great recruiter and would funnel a lot of talent to the U. They would be foolish not to pursue him. Hell I wish Tech would dump Johnson and bring him in so he could haunt Georgia for years to come.

He was the offensive coordinator at Florida State while they were in the middle of the sustained period of top-5 finishes. Given the number of first round draft picks that he has coached, I'd say he's proven himself at about the closest level to pros possible without actually being there.

Frankly, the Canes are insane if they haven't already made him an offer. He's the only potential head coaching hire that has been rumored out of Miami that worries me as an FSU fan.

Agree and i would hope he's interested if they ask. Not sure he would be. He played back up QB there but I think this heart is in the SEC and Missouri or others may come calling.

I'll bet they approached his agent but like I said he'll have other offers.
I'd certainly be glad if he came to Miami

That is exactly what I was thinking. He scares me a bit as coach in Miami. It would be a fantastic hire for the U if they could make it happen. He played QB for the U in the late 70s and early 80s, I think. They may have a leg up on everyone. He'll be a hot commodity for sure. Georgia was stupid to let him go, imo.

He should stay at the college level. He may go to the U

Negative. From Richt himself this week:

"Richt said Monday that he said he wants to be more “hands on’’ wherever he coaches next.

“I miss coaching quarterbacks,” he said. “I miss calling plays. I miss that part of it. Whether it’s in the role of head coach, coordinator, quarterbacks coach, whatever. I’d be really excited about coaching quarterbacks again and getting in the middle of coaching offensive strategy.’’
