Market for Matt Moore Heating Up

It makes no sense to lose our best quarterback, Devlin, to keep Matt Moore as insurance for this season. That's why we're perenial losers. We think we have talent when we don't, and we can't see it when we have.

Seriously, you just made my mind explode .....

Whom would be willing to take him, exactly? He won't be poached. Give me a break. This site's obssession with fringe players is disgusting. It's like if a team QBd by Matt Moore with Anthony Fasano and Richie Incognito went against Pat Devlin, Les Brown and Nate Garner you'd have people claiming that the latter was MUCH more talented!
I partially agree with you. Pat Devlin is potentially a fringe player but from all reports he has improved drastically. Who would take him? It sure looked to me like the Cardinals would be interested in at least looking at him based on what they have. I'm sure there are other teams that don't have someone this good as a 3.

Yeah, I remember my first beer....

When did you start watching Devlin? You must be seeing something that I haven't because your support of him is well before his reported improvement this year. Also, please explain how you could judge Devlin as our best QB when we haven't seen him play against quality competition. I understand he hasn't had many opportunities and that isn't necessarily his fault but I'm trying to understand how you could make that statement. Moore had at least a good season last year. DG had a Pro Bowl year. What has Devlin done to stack up against that?

Sit on the guy until you get the most value, there is no need to move him for peanuts, I'd rather have Moore on the roster as insurance than get a 5th or 6th.

If you're confident in both Garrard and Tannehill, you keep Devlin and get what you can for Moore. Devlin isn't there yet, but he's more talented than Moore, and he's a much better fit for the offense. You can't roster 4 QB's. Is it possible that we sneak Devlin onto our PS? Yes, it's possible, but you're talking about a pretty talented QB who fits the offense very well, and you're talking about a guy who has made major strides in a year (by all accounts I've read). We know what we have in Moore. He's a back up who can start in a pinch. In this system, Devlin absolutely has the tools to develop into a starting caliber QB - especially if the reports are true that his arm strength has improved. To me, it's an easy decision.

Great post.

Pat Devlin, Les Brown, Clyde Gates, Roberto Wallace, and Daniel Thomas as starters at the skill positions and we win the bowl.

Omar is correct on this one, the fins don't need Moore because the WCO isn't his offense so why not trade him, believe it or not Pat Devlin has played better than Moore, this is a respect thing about Moore, we all know that Tannehill is really the Number 2 QB, why would you want to put a QB in the game when he's a liability in the offense? Moore probably will be traded sooner than later so that Tannehill can gets some snaps.

Moore shouldn't be guaranteed anything because he was there last season, he's an insurance policy (if he knows the offense), he fumbles too much, and Devlin is more of a fit for this offense, IMO I thoight that should've played Devlin more last season, the dolphins are notorius for not playing QB's, they just put them on the PS and let them rot.

Matt Moore isn't a good enough player to be guaranteed anything.

The Dolphins should be "salivating " that we have him on our roster!

I really like Moore, great fiery competitor, just the kind of guy you want in your locker room. But hey if Garrard is truly unquestionably over playing him than I guess this does make Moore expendeble. Just do not under any circumstance trade him within the division, if traded to the jets he will be their savior, if traded to the pats he will throw 6 td's in a meaningless last regular season game and proceed to trade him in off-season 4 some draft picks... I'll say he goes to GB, they need a backup pretty bad. 4th rounder or no deal...

imo i wouldnt take no less than a 3rd rounder for Moore or we keep him , he is getting better each year and before we let him go for nothing (4th) than we keep him hes worth more than a 4th imo .
