Grimes is way better than Jennings and he's coming off one of his best seasons. I think that he's the best FA that Ireland has brought into the joint (yes, even better than Mark Colombo, Ernest Wilford and Legadu Naanee). He made a big difference and was a terrific presence in the locker room and also helped Carroll and Wilson improve. This time Jeff you need to pay up.

IMHO Grimes signs for significantly more the the contract Jennings just inked. Might be closer to $10 mil per season than five.

Grimes is essential in large part when you look at the great QB's Miami faces next year. Pass defense needs to be a focus this offseason.

And that might be the only reason not to go OT in the first round of the draft. If a bunch of OTs go before we pick and a top-rated cover corner drops in our lap, I think we have to take him. We need someone to pair out there with Grimes. Patterson can't stay healthy and Carroll isn't good enough.

Let's take the homer glasses off folks, Grimes is good...but so is Jennings. He had 9 interceptions last year and 4 this year. That doesn't suck. The most Grimes has ever had is 6, and that was 4 years ago.

I do not have an issue with that. It will never happen, but a 3 down LB might helpful too.

That is very good money for Jennings and I feel Grimes is better than him. I would not mind giving Grimes the money Jennings got, but I wonder if the Fins go to protect themselves and tag him. Should be interesting.

NO comparison in any way. That's like Patterson money. Grimes will likely be franchised and make around the same guarantee next year, In FA, Grimes is likely worth almost double.
