Which would make the move all the more terrible. People only want Flynn because he looked good in two games with the league's most talented offense. I guess it will be a scientific experiment to see how he will look with the league's worst (and how anyone can say our receiver corps isn't the worst would be beyond me).
People want Flynn because they believe that if the Dolphins want him, it's because Philbin has watched the guy in practice for years and knows he has the goods, not unlike Holmgren knew Hasselbeck had the goods when he left Green Bay and went to Seattle.
The truth is that we are -- as you say -- basically back in the same position we were before Marshall got here, which is needing more talent at receiver. Funny how people like Hartline and Bess until they're our top options, then they suck, isn't it?
But Marshall wasn't the answer then and he wouldn't have been going forward. For all his glorious reputation, he's a malcontent, and therefore a ****ty leader. He gives inconsistent effort, is the antithesis of a clutch player. He doesn't even create all that much separation. He loves Cutler because Cutler will "throw it up." Well, how about getting OPEN, Brandon, so your QB doesn't HAVE to throw it up? He's not worth the money. Not at all. Once he's fully out the door people will take off their Homervision glasses and realize what he is.
The only part of this that sucks is that we didn't get good value. But as I said before, that's what we DESERVE for being stupid.
