Although the Dolphins met with Jonathan Martin’s representatives at the combine this week and owner Stephen Ross plans to meet directly with Martin, a source close to Martin told the Palm Beach Post that Martin does not want to return to Miami.

There have been reports that the Dolphins are interested in bringing Martin back. But Martin wants to start fresh with another team whether he’s traded or cut.

“How do you take him back?” the source said. “Do you get rid of Pouncey? All these guys talked s*** about him. I don’t even know how it’s possible.”
“The owner might believe that what he touches can turn to gold,” the source said. “I don’t think (Martin) would be open to that.”

I wish I could be a fly on the wall if he EVER had the chance at walking into that locker room again

I don't want him back.

I don't want that clown on the team anyway. Wish we could get something for him but it's unlikely...just cut him.

It is the first time I have agreed with Martin since this saga started.

Fins GM Hickey expressed desire to bring J. Martin back at combine meeting. Philbin blamed Martin's agents for probs: http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/write...onathan-martin-back-his-agents-rebuffed-offer

Bottom line, Martin's representatives told the Dolphins a return there wouldn't work. Martin wants to play elsewhere. Trade seems unlikely

So releasing Martin might be the only solution here. Forcing him back into that locker room would be beyond odd

How about Joe getting angry with the agents! I love it! I am serious.

I saw this coming. Its time to **** this clown over and refuse to release him, much like Cinci did with Carson Palmer.

The Miami Dolphins expressed interest in Jonathan Martin returning to the team during their combine meeting with his agents, according to league sources.

The agents for Dolphins tackle Jonathan Martin met with Dolphins VP of football operations Dawn Aponte, new GM Dennis Hickey and coach Joe Philbin at the combine to discuss Martin's future with the club, sources said, at which time it was conveyed to the team that Martin was not comfortable returning.

Hickey expressed the desire for the team to keep him. Martin, a starting tackle for them prior to him leaving the team amid behavior that now has the Dolphins poised for penalties from the Wells Report remains under contract at modest sums as part of his rookie compensation, but given all the turmoil, Martin's advisors believe it best if he continue his career elsewhere and he has no intentions of playing there.

Hickey did most of the talking from Miami's side, according to sources, with Philbin "staring daggers" across the room. At the end of the meeting, however, sources said Philbin expressed his belief that Martin's agents were responsible for Miami's locker room controversy reaching this point, that they were the real problem and alluding that Martin's concerns could have been kept more private and handled differently.

Martin has not opted to sue the team or the league and wants to continue his playing career. The NFL has yet to hand down its discipline resulting from the Wells Report, but Miami recently fired its offensive line coach and head athletic trainer as fallout from the report.

I am glad the Dolphins took the stance that they "wanted" him back. The fact that Martin's agents are the ones demanding out works out perfectly for the Dolphins. So that means Miami can explore a trade or just release him without more media backlash for getting rid of the "victim".

If I were the Dolphins I would hold onto him as long as possible. Make him sweat it out and try everything to get something in return for him. It is not fair for him to just walk freely to the team of his choice and leave the Dolphins with firings, suspensions and possible draft pick penalties. Please Miami, make it as difficult on Martin as you can.

My guess is that he would refuse to play, so then we could deactivate him, get a roster exemption and no cap hit. Flat out releasing him with nothing to gain is a loss for the Dolphins.

Part of me wants to know why should we even cater to what he wants? Why should he dictate who and where he wants to play after all he has done. If we cut him, would be still be paying his salary?

A very small part of me almost wants him back JUST so he could get tormented by fans and isolated by the rest of the team. PR wise it wouldn't hurt, it would show that we were willing as an organization to bring him back. I'd bring him back and not play him. Ruin whatever minuscule stock he may left as an NFL player.

For the record, Martin is a bitch and I hate him and everything he has caused this organization so anything to ruin him I'd be in favor for. I dont want him back but a very small part of me wants him to FACE what he LEFT.
