Martin doesn't want to return to Dolphins

Martin should not be rewarded for his antics. to force his trade or release while still getting paid has been his goal this whole time. put him on the market for a 3rd or 4th rounder. if no one bites, make him come to camp. he won't show his face in this locker room, so fine him every day he is not here. force his hand.

as much as i want this to be over Martin should be punished as much as possible for his actions.

NOw your talking and i agree 100% even if he was bullied , thats no excuse to get released on the free , we made those that did the bulling pay for it , so now Martin its your turn to man/women up and either honor your contract or get what Barry Sanders got , play for Miami or if we can get a pick say a 2nd or early 3rd or you will stay with us or retire.......your no better than Barry Sanders , id say worse but still you signed the dotted line NOW ITS TIME TO HONOR IT ......

Hi folks. I used to be on a smaller Dolphins message board, it withered away and quit. But now that I'm where there isn't a single Dolphins fan, I took to the internets once again.

I suppose I'm in a distant minority by saying I don't have a huge amount of hate towards Martin. I don't begrudge him for much of what happened. This stuff could have been prevented and Martin was not without fault, but IMO Incognito was the biggest problem here.

That being said, I'm glad Martin doesn't want to be on the team. We all know no one wants Martin to be a Dolphin. Not him, his family/lawyers/agents. Not the Dolphins brass. Not Dolphins players. Not Dolhpins fans, including me. All for different reasons of course. Martin doesn't want to be here because his sensibilities will be bruised. Fine by me. Fans don't want him here because of a mixture of him selling out his team (I care less about this) and him just flat out being a bad football player (I care more about this). Martin sucks, and I want him off the team because we have too many players on this team that suck. I'm no Vince Lombardi, but I know the more sucky football players on your team, the chances of you winning a game decreases.

I've read a ton of posts about Keyshawning him, deactivating him and so on. That's a feel good move, but it doesn't help the franchise. Someone else explained it above. The last thing we need is this cloud over the franchise any longer. Shipping Martin out, so he can fail on another team and wash out of the NFL will help the franchise move on. The last thing the franchise should do is to open themselves up to legal issues, or a spiteful atmosphere so that the players are affected by this. Just ship him out and be done with it.

So thanks Jonathan for not wanting to play for the Dolphins, the feelings are mutual. I hope the Dolphins will do everything they can to give you peace.

UNTIL the next player that we draft say maybe a 1st rd pick that dosent want to play here and he pulls a Martin antic , then what ? just cut him like we did Martin ? because thats what we did with Martin ,i dont want him on the team , but we cant reward him just because he yells bully , he made a commitment when he signed the dotted line and i would hold him to that unless we can trade him , but if not and he dosent show up on the team , then i say let him retire he is no better than the next guy that wants a trade but dosent get it , sorry but we are not playing back yard football , where if you dont get to be on your buddies team you are not playing , you belong to the NFL when you signed the dotted line and you just cant up and go where ever you want , just because he had his way at home .. i say we get what we want or he can retire plain and simple ........

I think that this is another ploy by Martin. He is looking to put Miami into some sort of situation where he can file a lawsuit. If Miami cuts him, he is going to file a wrongful termination suit. If Miami keeps him he is going to sue them for not letting him out of his contract... In both cases he is going to be given a good settlement....

Issues aside, didn't Philbin think he wasn't good enough to play LT? Isn't that one of the things he and Ireland disagreed about? Hickey thinks Martin can play too?

If Martin is going to truly salvage his career, I think he needs to repair the damage that's been dealt with the team he walked out on and get closure in Miami, not just jump to another city and hope for the best. If this whole story wasn't as gigantic as it became, and Jonathan Martin was a dynamite player, I'd say Sure, you can take a chance with another city and team, people will forget this ever happened before you know it. But the story's way too big, and he's way too lackluster of a player.

But hey, I'm a Miami fan, not a Martin fan. So if he wants out...whatever dude. Enjoy your likely forever-tarnished career.

may i propose an... unconventional way for the Dolphins organization to handle the Martin issue?

I don't get this. if this were true, why wouldn't more nfl players file lawsuits for being cut? i'm almost 100% sure, that every nfl contract, says they can cut any player they so choose, for any reason. it happens all the time. There is enough proof that Martin sucks as an NFL player, that miami can cut him for that alone. Martin can sue all he wants, he's not going to win anything.

His case is unique in that he may be able to use Whistle Blower laws.

Stephen Ross said he hasn't spoken to Jonathan Martin and "lawyers are trying to arrange a meeting" relatively soon.

Ross, on Martin: "He wants to talk to me as much I'm prepared to listen. That will have no impact on what we're doing going forward."

This sounds like Ross may be taking a hard line. Good.

I HOPE the LaCanfora report is correct, that martin wants out. I hope it is NOT correct that Hickey would take him back.

This has potential to be unique because there are labor laws that protect "whistleblowers"...
