Martin doesn't want to return to Dolphins

There is no one here who believes that Martin will be on our team this year but, many want to talk about him in spite of this, and have no opinion on players who will be playing. What does that say of this forum?

Colts would be a great fit RT @ProFootballTalk: Andrew Luck "100 percent" supports bringing Jonathan Martin to Colts http://wp.me/p14QSB-9q83

On #Colts roster are Jonathan Martin’s ex-teammates like Andrew Luck, Coby Fleener and Griff Whalen. A welcoming locker room. Colts need OTs

UNTIL the next player that we draft say maybe a 1st rd pick that dosent want to play here and he pulls a Martin antic , then what ? just cut him like we did Martin ? because thats what we did with Martin ,i dont want him on the team , but we cant reward him just because he yells bully , he made a commitment when he signed the dotted line and i would hold him to that unless we can trade him , but if not and he dosent show up on the team , then i say let him retire he is no better than the next guy that wants a trade but dosent get it , sorry but we are not playing back yard football , where if you dont get to be on your buddies team you are not playing , you belong to the NFL when you signed the dotted line and you just cant up and go where ever you want , just because he had his way at home .. i say we get what we want or he can retire plain and simple ........

Contracts in this league mean slightly less than the paper they are printed on. Teams cut players all the time. Players hold out all the time. Is this situation different? You bet. The situation is party the org's doing (mostly the org's doing). Where there cannot be any argument is that this situation is now the Dolphins' problem to fix. The only true commitment in this situation should be Miami's commitment to winning. Not the franchise's commitment to getting revenge on players that blew up the team. You win by getting good players on your team and shipping off bad ones. I'm frankly surprised that so many Dolphin fans want to keep such a bad player on the roster. That's just weird. As I said, the sooner this is behind the team, the better. Players might not side with Martin (but we don't know for sure) but what is incontrovertible is that players don't want to play for a team that has extra drama already built in. Dragging this Martin issue out is unhelpful to the franchise. Your attitude here is more like a jilted ex-girlfriend wanting revenge, not an emotionless business decision maker. How often do Jonathan Martins come around? 1 in about 100 years now. If we get another one, it describes a failure of our front office (and higher leadership) than anything else.

I don't get this. if this were true, why wouldn't more nfl players file lawsuits for being cut? i'm almost 100% sure, that every nfl contract, says they can cut any player they so choose, for any reason. it happens all the time. There is enough proof that Martin sucks as an NFL player, that miami can cut him for that alone. Martin can sue all he wants, he's not going to win anything.

Yeah, it's impossible for Miami to get sued for wrongful termination, since Miami is protected by the CBA. Not happening.

Good. Go be someone else's problem. What a loser.

"Martin doesn't want to return to Dolphins "

That's good because Miami and their fans do not want Martin to return see how easy this will be. LOL

I am glad the Dolphins took the stance that they "wanted" him back. The fact that Martin's agents are the ones demanding out works out perfectly for the Dolphins. So that means Miami can explore a trade or just release him without more media backlash for getting rid of the "victim".

If I were the Dolphins I would hold onto him as long as possible. Make him sweat it out and try everything to get something in return for him. It is not fair for him to just walk freely to the team of his choice and leave the Dolphins with firings, suspensions and possible draft pick penalties. Please Miami, make it as difficult on Martin as you can.

Amen!! The only way I don't force him back is if another team trades for him. After all the **** he put the team through, F' him.
