Martin HS coach: "He was always ‘yes or no sir' do whatever you ask him. I can see where somebody that’s a bully will take advantage of him"

Martin's HS coach: “I can see where if somebody was bullying him he would take that to heart, and be concerned and think it was his fault.”

Martin's HS coach believes Martin was too embarrassed to approach coaches or other teammates about his issues.

Both seem to have some type of issues that need to be addressed before they spin out of control and one or both result in violence

I'm thinking we are about to see some of Martins dirty laundry aired soon.

It's a shame Martain couldn't turn that internal anger on some opposing teams defensive linemen.

For those continuing to say Philbin should've had a grasp on the locker room, I still want to know what he was supposed to do if Martin didn't exhibit any feelings of being bullied.

Well, regardless of how he felt talking about his issues with the locker room, he still should have gone to a coach with his issue. This absolves our staff from blame on his behalf, in my opinion.

Some people may say "well coach turner should've noticed something was amiss". I disagree with this, coaches see this behavior all the damn time. If a specific player has an issue with it ( no one else seems too ) why should they interfere if nothing is said by the player with the issue?

I'm not absolving Incog. He's a dumb meathead and he took it too far, and obviously should've realized he was picking on someone that didn't want to be apart of it. But this idea that somehow our coaches should get the axe for this incident is beyond dumb.

It's great to have manners, in fact those are hard to come by these days, unfortunately passive personalities usually give way to more dominant types which seems to be the case here.

Better to fight one day, than have to fight everyday for the rest of your life.

Yikes, not good when your own high school coach basically calls you weak and soft.

If you think you are being bullied to the point of a mental breakdown you tell someone, you seek help. Martin failed to do this.

So doesn't this fall on the scouts and "BOSS" for drafting him then?

Well if it's shown that Martin never sought help or displayed signs then the coaching staff shouldn't be blamed. But I do find it hard to believe that absolutely no one in this world other than Martin knew this was occurring.

What does "this" mean? How can any of this information that's coming out now have any relevance to April 2012?

Players don't take a mental exam and scouts and coaches don't interview or have ties with college and past coaches. If Martin was a "soft" player wouldn't this be something that the organization would probably want to know from a locker room continuity standpoint?

Very true, that being said I truly believe Martin was scared of Incognito. I know people say, yeah well Martin is just as big and should have punched him. Incognito trains in MMA as a hobby and I'm here to tell you from experience, I train with several world champion kickboxers and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champions at Greubel's MMA (who just had 6 out of the 12 kickboxers from the US team come from here), and half of them look like just your normal everyday people. They don't have engorged huge muscles, but I guarantee they will wear people out that test them. That being said, I'm not sure if Incognito could stop once he flips that switch, that coupled with his size is not really something Martin was willing to take on
