Marvez: Source Says They Think Ireland/Philbin Stay, Sherman Goes

At least I got the heat which, thank God cause my other teams are the marlins and panthers. Ugh. My friend is a mets, jets and Knicks fan so he's always miserable. I hope you all have at least one team with competent higher ups to root for.

The Devils have given me 3 Cups, 5 Eastern Conference titles, and a competitive team year in and year out, so at least I have them to balance out the Fins. The only teams I root for are the Devils and Dolphins though, don't really care about baseball or basketball.

No one worth anything is coming here to be the OC unless they are a position coach and looking for a promotion....if I'm their agent I tell them to wait, this is a bad situation to be in, there is no stability, no loyalty, a national bullygate scandal and the present regime walking on thin ice...not the place to take on chance on.....we have to have stability before we can attract the big time coaches and you do that by backing the coach you just hired 2 yrs ago instead of having everyone flapping in the wind while you get some sun in the Bahamas....

I just wanna know how Miami got such ****ty people in the franchise.

I will tell you, no one wants to work here that has a good track record...what the fans fail to realize is if you fire Philbin this yr that means we would have had 4 coaches in 7 yrs.....you tell me what sane person would walk through this door when they can work somewhere else and have a legit chance of succeeding....and too that the veteran FA who want to play for a winner and the big time FA will only come here if we over pay them...its either build some stability over 5 yrs, draft well and then when you have fairly good team bring in the right coach to finish the job or keep firing 1st time head coaches after 2 years and hope you strike gold with one of them and win now.....

Chargers did get lucky, the NFL acknowledged as much when they said the refs had missed MULTIPLE calls that game.

I'm sorry, I've heard too many smart people that are in the know say that consistency is key in the NFL for you to make me believe we should be firing coaches every two years till were in the playoffs.

Also, please stop taking kernels of garbage "reporting" from the same beat writers you people denounce through the season! I'll believe Philbin won't fire Sherman, which was a request from Ross, when I hear it from a good source. Until then keep that TMZ bull**** out of your argument.

 Ah, the old refs excuse. An excuse is an excuse is an excuse, and you are chock-full of them. The Chargers are in, the Dolphins are not. Quit whining like a baby about the refs. And again, I never used the Chargers as an example of a quick turn around. You did. Though, they are a GREAT example of sticking with a coach for too long and wasting all the talent they had.

Who said I want to fire coaches every two years? Are you purposefully ignoring my posts about the HC? I'll state it again (3rd time in this thread, I think). I've made it no secret that the main problem has been Ireland, though that is now Ross because of his decision to stick with him. HC only becomes a serious concern when you factor in his decision to stick with his coordinators. And I'm not getting that from the media. :d-day: I'm also not a huge fan of the piecemeal approach. Yeah, it worked in Carolina and somewhat with the jests. It certainly hasn't worked for us. However, if we fired Ireland and stuck with Philbin, I'd be okay with that. But another mediocre year and it would be time to move on.

Continuity is great...when you are sticking with good staff. You were probably super pissed when we dropped all the other turd coaches after only a few years, huh? Man, did they prove us wrong once they went on to coach other teams, amirite? Which of those playoff teams is Sparano coaching right now? The problem hasn't been not sticking with coaches, it's been hiring **** coaches in the first place.

I agree with you on Daboll, but that's why he was the best we've had since Linehan. Incidentally, Scott Linehan is available and I would be down for bringing him in again. I was mad when he left and especially that we got stuck with Mike effing Mularkey.

I agree I liked the ofense under Linehan.

If they keep Joe and JI, Ross might as well let Joe have who he wants as his OC.
