According to ESPN's QBR Moore finished 12th out of 34 QBs qualified to rate:

Why are we in love with Flynn? Yes, I want(ed) Peyton, but in his absence I would have been good w Moore starting next year. Flynn is so unproven it's ridiculous to think he will come in and turn out better than Moore. The list of QBs in front of him on this list are, for the most part, franchise QBs. Just find this interesting how well he "ranked"...

I'm with you, not a fan of Flynn but if we continue with Moore then who is he gonna throw to?
Marshall's 1,214 yards are half of Moores total passing yards. Not to mention more than a 1/3 of his TD total.
So even if we stick with Matty, he's gonna have tough sledding and will most like drop on that list unless he gets some serious help outside.
 
That was very telling when Rodgers said Flynn would be a top 15 QB. A ringing endorsement for average. We have that, and possibly more with Moore.
 
I agree but if we give tons of money to get Flynn isn't he going to have the same problem?
 
How is Moore going to look without Marshall? Awful probably.

Not saying I think Flynn will be top 15, cause I don't. But if Rodgers is right and is top 15. Then we' be foolish not to take a crack at him.

Top 15's crappy? If Flynn joins these 14-Brees/Brady/Rodgers/Peyton/Ben/Eli/Stafford/Vick/Romo/Ryan/Newton/Flacco/Cutler/Freeman-he's lousy?

I just can't put ALL that much stock into the QB rating. some things worked against him, but the amount of fumbles was just outrageous, and the sample size is a little too small to go putting him up there. matt moore will never get a glympse of 5000 yards or 30+ TD
 
I would rather roll with Moore than go after Flynn.  If we're not getting Manning or a sure-fire rookie ready for Day 1, I think Moore deserves a full offseason.  He played well and probably would have done even better if the O-line wasn't so porous.  We'll see whether the WCO is the right offense for him.

All I'm saying is that I'm concerned Matt Flynn will be no better than the Matt we have now...

your probably right, but most qbs dont reach 5000 yds, even the best of the best. its rare.
 
funny, one thing that is not being takin into account in this thread, and that is Moore did not have any reps with the first team for all of training camp through the first 3 weeks of the season.. So he did not get totally acclimated until at least week 6.. He would certainly do much better with a fair shot at a whole offseason program. People are far too blinded by their bias
 
Sample size for Flynn is what? It's ridiculous how some y'll see this over hyped scrub as a savior. Stick with Moore and draft Tannehill is best option since Manning ain't coming.
 
the purpose of signing Flynn is

1. knowing and help implementing the WC system
2. potential to be top dog
3. should come on the cheap, do to his lack of suitors and lack of experience
