I would say that he and Matt Flynn have a very healthy relationship.

(On if he has any doubts that Matt Flynn is ready to be a starting quarterback in the NFL) – “In my opinion Matt is ready for that challenge. He has had the opportunity to take a full week of game plan reps, prepare for a game in New England and at home against Detroit and perform very well. So with that you never really know until you go through a full sixteen week season. Every head coach and coordinator goes through that with their first time quarterback, but there is a lot of evidence that Matt Flynn can do that. I have been very impressed with Matt and what he has been able to accomplish with our time in Green Bay together.”

More evidence he's coming here IMO

Packers would probably like to have Flynn in the afc anyway instead of going to the skins or Seattle

warming up to this idea. maybe its just because im realizing we arent going to sniff luck or rg3. who knows with this team, seems like we cursed when it comes to the qb position. always have that sinking feeling were going to screw it up again.

please dont franchise tag him demanding a pick back lmao. Be nice, let him go

I have asked around and those in the know tell me it makes no sense for the Packers to Franchise Tag Flynn. He is expected to hit Free Agency.

IF they franchise tag Flynn, they cannot franchise tag Jermichael Finley.

I hope. I have heard the opposite actually, that they know a team will pay and they want to treat it like NE did Cassell. However. Cassell had almost a full year starting and therefore was more of a sure thing.

The reason Flynn is such a great option of course is his familiarity with Philbin and the fact that hopefully all he will cost is money. If it is a pick and 15 million plus, that attraction goes away for sure

Getting Flynn for just money is the best case scenario and lets us use the draft to focus elsewhere. If we dont get Flynn, I say mortage the entire draft for RG3. Flynn is worth a year effort though, and if he doesnt work, go after Barkley and company next year.

I would definitely take him. I hope that we can get him for a decent price and give him a more incentive based contract, rather than a whole lot up front...

i think its more to it then that because what if they extend Finley before free agency begins.... and they still have the franchise to use on Flynn which is basically the big question everyone is asking WOULD THEY USE IT.

Flynn: if Fisher (heaven forbid), McCoy, Mularkey, etc ended up being our HC I wouldn't want him because it's literally buying a pig in a poke on the basis of 2 games vs questionable secondaries and being a 7th round pick from a school that has not produced successful pro QBs in the modern era.

BUT, if the promising and exciting Joe Philbin, who knows Flynn better than most any other coaching professional does in fact enthusiastically want him, then that would be good enough for me and I'll be onboard.

As an aside, conversely it would suck for Flynn and his agent, communicating just the opposite impression if Philbin decides to show no interest in him

I just would worry about Seattle or even Washington trying to out bid us because they are in need of a quarterback as well. I also have heard Flynn has ties with the Seattle organization as well if i remember correctly its with there general manager.

Flynn will be no different than Fisher or anyone else who has value ...

He can pretty much get the money from many ... Flynn will want to go where he has the best chance of success, then he'll end up making EVEN MORE MONEY!! (& enjoy his career & life)

Guess we better beef up our O-Line. Miami's advantage should be that he likes the coach, which will be part of that "best chance of success" formula.

no team i mean NO TEAM, in there right mind, is going to franchise their BACKUP quarterback and pay him among the top 5 in the league, to warm the bench. he wont be franchised. there is no question about that.

Uh I think its already been done before bro, by a team that's actually in the super bowl.
