Thigpen was arguably better than henne
MAYBE! but this is a lesson on the sparano [wanny] henne [feidler] relationship. thigpen was never given reps with the first team, he was ignored for the most part through out the season and then thrown in on a short week, coming off a hard loss into a buzz saw named the chicago bears!! he never had a chance. henne would have gotten blown out in that game [just more int's].
and that was it. back to henne. any coach that was WHOLE HEARTEDLY changing qb's would have recognized the situation and given him at least 3 more games or the rest of the season with FULL first team reps. but, sparano didnt.
you can bet that the next couple games will see the play calls be VERY dialed back and iffy to keep moore in check and get the fans into the "see, hes just a scrub, henne is the man" mode. tony sprano, like dave wanstedt, wants NO MENTION OR CHANCE of a qb controversey for his boy and will direct moores outcome.
remember wanny and fiedler? huard outplayed him lights out in pre season after SWEARING the contests were wide open. coaches DO create outcomes when need be.
who got the job?
ONE NOTE: i didnt know this untill last night that moore was drafted by the parcells/sparano cowboys! so, there may be a twinkle of hope somewhere in that. he can at least count on a roster spot! :)
