Lots of MM detractors and doubters here on the basis of his 2010 season and being replaced by Jimmy Clausen. Although it was a gawdawful team and he contributed to that.. those points are well taken.

But when he came in to replace DelHomme in 09 starting the 12th game with the sad-sack Panthers at 4-7, over the span of the next 5 games, winning 4 of em, he literally doubled their win total finish at 8-8.

He played against some decent competition and as the following stats indicate, threw 8TDs to 2Ints on his way to a 98.5QBR, completely nearly 62% of his passes and averaging over 11ypc. Not too shabby.

Yes, I'm certain an avalanche of reasons and suppositions will follow refuting that he could once again revert back to Dr Jekyll from Mr Hyde Not saying he will, but based on past performance with a lacklustre team, is there anyone who can definitively assert that he won't either?

If the defense finally shows up and gets some stops and Brandon actually catches a few big passes I think Moore will be just fine. Thomas should give us a running attack and the Jets can not stop anybody on the ground. All Moore has to do is not turn it over and make a few red zone plays.

I thought he would be okay, but Omar Kelly thinks he is an upgrade over Henne, so Moore will be awful.

I'm hopeful. I saw some good stuff out of Matt Moore in the preseason. He threw with some anticipation, he can move around in the pocket and his arm strength isn't too bad either.

I'm less worried about Matt Moore and more worried about the OLine being somewhat decent and the defense hopefully turning it around. Same things I was worried about before Henne went down.

I'm intrigued enough not to even worry about some sort of S4L campaign for Miami. I can't wait for Monday night.

Actually, if the rumors about Gruden are true, if Moore flashes some potential, he'd be right up Chuckie's alley considering he's had no real success developing young phenoms but did resurrect and enhance Rich Gannon's career and did get an 11 or 12 win season (deluding him into not drafting Rodgers) out of already journeyman Brian Griese. I can see his ego kicking in again trying to catch lightning in a bottle in a "look at me, I'm such a QB guru" moment.

VK - If people couldn't get behind a more fleet of foot Henne dodging for his life behind our Guards and Columbo I doubt Moore any better success with Columbo as our RG and RT combination I think it a matter of time before they shut down Jake - then what?

having someone who knows how to throw a touch pass will be a nice "touch"

Moore needs reps which he is now getting. I am curious to see how he does. MNF is the BIG stage. It would be awesome that he light up the New York Skyline with a career game!

Yes just what we need Moore to get hot win a few games, land us a pick between 14-18, and then we can all high five eachoher about edging the Jets for 3rd in the division!

If we're going to look at a subset of the QB's career, Henne started 7-3 in his first 10 games.Henne through his first 13 career starts? 7-6 2878yds, 12TDs, 14INTSMoore through his first 13 career starts? 7-6 2807yds, 16TDs, 18INTS The Moore we're hoping for change, the Moore things are the same (see what i did there?).

i always thought he got a raw deal back in 2010. I think he could be a ok QB if the team commits to him this year.
