Lots of MM detractors and doubters here on the basis of his 2010 season and being replaced by Jimmy Clausen. Although it was a gawdawful team and he contributed to that.. those points are well taken.
But when he came in to replace DelHomme in 09 starting the 12th game with the sad-sack Panthers at 4-7, over the span of the next 5 games, winning 4 of em, he literally doubled their win total finish at 8-8.
He played against some decent competition and as the following stats indicate, threw 8TDs to 2Ints on his way to a 98.5QBR, completely nearly 62% of his passes and averaging over 11ypc. Not too shabby.
Yes, I'm certain an avalanche of reasons and suppositions will follow refuting that he could once again revert back to Dr Jekyll from Mr Hyde Not saying he will, but based on past performance with a lacklustre team, is there anyone who can definitively assert that he won't either?
