Matt Moore deal is done?

schefter reporting saying the orton deal is OFF. big shocker that..

As John Clayton is reporting, Dolphins signing former Panthers QB Matt Moore and bypassing chance to trade for Kyle Orton.
 
cmon guys...we just signed matt moore because he took the panthers to the promise land...

he helped them reach #1 pick overall in the draft.

jeff just wants him to do the same for us

But it's also not like Henne truly stinks, as people like to say for some reason. Nobody would pick a QB from our past that truly stinks, like Harrington, Culpepper, Griese, Lucas, Feeley, etc. over Henne, unless they're just indulging in their hatred of the guy. The only reason people say Henne stinks is because they THINK he can't get any better.

Well, I say people sometimes think too much for their own good.
 
Better go after Zach Miller, an OG and some type of pass rusher then. Jesus this is bad.

This is the type of response that I can see the other side of.

Breaking News: Dolphins acquire Kyle Orton from Denver for a second round pick...

Or..

Breaking News: Dolphins acquire Kyle Orton from Denver for a third round pick and <some player>...

The responses would be along the lines of "I can't believe we just gave up 2/3 round pick for Orton, blah blah blah blah". Look, I agree we should get a QB but at what cost? 4th and a bag of chips for Orton and not overextending your arm, I'll accept. Hell, I commend them for giving Denver the hard line. All things considered, it's not that hard to see Orton is not within the minds of the organization or fans in CO.
 
in 23 games, Moore has only 1 300+ yard game

in 32 games, Henne has 6 300+ yard games

Orton had 6 such games last year, but is still a mediocre QB at best....

conclusion: all three QBs suck, but at least we will have a high draft pick next year and we didn't give up a draft pick
 
We let Tyler Thigpen leave and we signed Matt Moore?

Moore has only played when others were hurt or played very poorly. Plus he has missed a lot of time with injuries.

I wonder if there is going to be a true QB competition this season, there almost never is one here.

Quite the contrary, I think this shows how much faith the FO has in Henne. If they had sent a 2nd or a 3rd to Denver and signed Orton to a big contract extension - it would assume Orton was the starter. This way, it is an open competition, like it or not.
 
Moore is a good QB, we wish him all the best. Always has been a classy guy.

Who can blame the guy. Matt ****ing Moore. At least bring in some old **** who can compete with Henne like Bulger. Matt Moore pretty much guarantees 2 things. Henne will be the starter, and these clowns are fired at the end of the season, if they even make it that far.

Faith. Really showed last year when they benched him several times. What it shows, is what we already knew. These guys are clueless idiots.
 
I'm loving the guys applauding the FO for not overpaying for Orton... Overpaying is a fact of life in free agency... You can't control what Arizona or any other franchise is going to do... The market is what it is... But you can BLAME Ireland for putting us at the mercy of it...

And now here we sit looking straight at another year of Henne starting and then what? His contract is up at the end of the year... :lol: so we will be in this EXACT spot again this time next year... Digging through garbage to find a starter when we don't re sign him. It is either that or we throw a mid round kid we just drafted to the wolves... Awesome plan for developing a QB... :lol:

Orton is not a home run but he is better than Henne and he would have supplied us with the tiniest measure of stability in order to develop SOMEONE/ANYONE in the coming years... This is PLAN 'B' in a big way... So admit it... You applaud Jeff for not overpaying... Then you must LOVE this FO for 'settling' time and again. :lol:
