No we won't. Our defense is too good. We'll have a middle of the road draft pick again with little chance at a QB.in 23 games, Moore has only 1 300+ yard game
in 32 games, Henne has 6 300+ yard games
Orton had 6 such games last year, but is still a mediocre QB at best....
conclusion: all three QBs suck, but at least we will have a high draft pick next year and we didn't give up a draft pick
Here is what I think is going on.
The Fins signed Moore as insurance.
They are going to wait for DEN to cut Orton and then sign him as well.
Exactly.
If people would sit down and logically and reasonably look at this move, they would realize this. I am just laughing at the level of panic and bashing going on by this move.
All I have heard was how Ireland overspends for FA'S and wastes draft picks for players.
This season, when he has full control guess what? He isn't willing to overpay and he apparently is not just throwing away draft picks.
So we now established Ireland is a joke because he overpays with both money and draft picks.
We also established that Ireland is a joke because he won't overpay and spend draft picks.
Panic mode is quite funny. This deal in no ways keeps Miami from still getting Orton.
I still ask anyone on this board to give a better option Miami could have gotten at QB. Seriously! I mean if we wanna spend over 5 million for Alex Smith or 4+ million for Tavaris Jackson or a 2nd and a 3rd and 8+ million for Kyle Orton then I can understand the problem.
Now people are just bashing and complaining to bash and complain. There is no sound base really for this anymore.
What true QB on the market could have been a QB of the future? None
Next option who would be the best stop gap? Orton... Is he worth Kolb compensation?
Those that want to lose for luck. How does this hurt your philosophy?
This is becoming so funny right now

So, anybody else hear that 'Andrew Luck is a cokehead' rumor? :snack:
That's a good point. If our "revamped" running game and Daboll end up being busts, that is a very good possibility in our division. Oh, and if Henne is our starter.Three teams with top defenases the prior year were in the cam newton sweepstakes this year so just because we had a top 10 defense last year does not mean we have no chance to lose alot of games. I guess people forget that in 2003 we had the third ranked defense and the next year we went 4-12. Also for those with shorter term memory in 2006 we had the fifth ranked defense and the following year we went 1-15. So its far from impossible.
It's an insurance policy. God we have the worst fan base in the NFL.
I'll say this....IF the three QBs for this year are Chad Henne, Matt Moore and Pat Devlin?
I'll lay a wager that Pat Devlin starts at least one game. Anyone want to take me up on it?
This better not be the only QB move....
