Matt Moore deal is done?

Well, this is brilliant execution if their plan is to force Denver's hand.

If that's not their plan, this is brilliant execution of the "become unemployed" plan.

in 23 games, Moore has only 1 300+ yard game

in 32 games, Henne has 6 300+ yard games

Orton had 6 such games last year, but is still a mediocre QB at best....

conclusion: all three QBs suck, but at least we will have a high draft pick next year and we didn't give up a draft pick
No we won't. Our defense is too good. We'll have a middle of the road draft pick again with little chance at a QB.

So, anybody else hear that 'Andrew Luck is a cokehead' rumor? :snack:

I'm no fan of moore or henne, but this is preferable to me than giving up too much for Orton, if Orton goes to FA then we could have some fun and if that happens, I would be amazed if both of Henne and Moore are still with the team come first game of the season.

Here is what I think is going on.

The Fins signed Moore as insurance.

They are going to wait for DEN to cut Orton and then sign him as well.

Sorry I don't see it... Orton hitting FA is not going to change his money demands... And now we have added an additional 5.5 could be 7.5 in Moore... This is not to mention the outright SLAP in the face to Henne such a move would represent since he would be sandwiched between two guys with deals longer than HIM!! At least as of now Henne knows he is the guy for one more year...

The only way I see Moore's signing as a precursor to An Orton deal is in a trade scenario involving Henne... But I doubt Denver is that dumb.

With the defense we have, the 2nd or third rounder we saved was NEVER going to help put us into the 'Luck' sweepstakes... The QB's we will be looking at will essentially be the same with or without that pick... Nope... Chalk this up to yet another example of Ireland refusing to fix his own mistakes... And same time next year we will be doing the EXACT same thing, picking through the other teams garbage once again looking for a starter when Henne walks...

Exactly.

If people would sit down and logically and reasonably look at this move, they would realize this. I am just laughing at the level of panic and bashing going on by this move.

All I have heard was how Ireland overspends for FA'S and wastes draft picks for players.

This season, when he has full control guess what? He isn't willing to overpay and he apparently is not just throwing away draft picks.

So we now established Ireland is a joke because he overpays with both money and draft picks.
We also established that Ireland is a joke because he won't overpay and spend draft picks.

Panic mode is quite funny. This deal in no ways keeps Miami from still getting Orton.

I still ask anyone on this board to give a better option Miami could have gotten at QB. Seriously! I mean if we wanna spend over 5 million for Alex Smith or 4+ million for Tavaris Jackson or a 2nd and a 3rd and 8+ million for Kyle Orton then I can understand the problem.

Now people are just bashing and complaining to bash and complain. There is no sound base really for this anymore.

What true QB on the market could have been a QB of the future? None
Next option who would be the best stop gap? Orton... Is he worth Kolb compensation?
Those that want to lose for luck. How does this hurt your philosophy?

This is becoming so funny right now

Whats fuinny is you would ask anyone to give a better option than matt Moore. I mean seriously there were about 10 better options than Matt Moore. Moore was given the starting job last year and had it took away by a rookie that did not play very well in Jimmy Clauson. In fact carolina loved Moore so much that they used high picks two years in a row to replace him. Kind of how we did with john beck. people way too much overvalue 3rd round picks when they say orton is not worth a third, hell we traded a 4th for our very average TE and a 5th for an injured old trent Green.

Three teams with top defenases the prior year were in the cam newton sweepstakes this year so just because we had a top 10 defense last year does not mean we have no chance to lose alot of games. I guess people forget that in 2003 we had the third ranked defense and the next year we went 4-12. Also for those with shorter term memory in 2006 we had the fifth ranked defense and the following year we went 1-15. So its far from impossible.

That's a good point. If our "revamped" running game and Daboll end up being busts, that is a very good possibility in our division. Oh, and if Henne is our starter.

It's an insurance policy. God we have the worst fan base in the NFL.

No we are just fans who are sick of pin balling from mediocre to just plain bad each and every year, which APPEARS is being caused by our FO's inability or even what seems like unwillingness to upgrade the position.

I can't believe this piece of **** organization. What a joke.

I'm so glad I finally cut off my season tickets after 15+ seasons. Now I can use that money to move up my Heat seats.

I'll say this....IF the three QBs for this year are Chad Henne, Matt Moore and Pat Devlin?

I'll lay a wager that Pat Devlin starts at least one game. Anyone want to take me up on it?

Yea I will take you up on that just to make things interesting and to yak about later!
50/50 chance IMO

CHEESE AND RICE.........MATT FACKING MOORE?!?!?!?!?!

Are you facking kidding me??!!??!?!?!?

Pathetic!!! Nice FA - an injury prone punt returner and another backup QB masquerading as a starter. Yay!!!
