*tired of QB talk*

now i couldn't watch the game but i listened and i heard his name alot with QB pressures and flushing people out of the pocket... anyone who watched was he really getting good penetration last night? i know he didn't get any sacks but was he at least abrupting plays and ****?

He always seems to penetrate the oline, yet his speed is one thing holding him back. He did look a bit faster on one play chasing the RB. Otherwise, he just looks slow. He'll be good for us in the future.

i wasnt able to watch the game last night... How did Vickerson look before he got hurt? Manny Wright? How was the O-line and D-line? Anything but the QB would be great to hear about... Ronnie Brown?

  • Starter on both sides did not play much, I think the Falcon first team offense was in for 4-6 plays.
  • Vickerson got chop blocked from behind away from the play. It's the Gibbs style of blocking Denver does the same thing. It reminded me of Lyons cheap shot on DS.
  • Traylor was unblockable. He blew some plays up.
  • You can see why the coaches like some things about Manny... if he ever gets in shape he could be a real find.
  • Roths motor is his best asset ... for now.
  • Crowder looked tentative.
  • Bua will be cut imo.
  • Tackling was very poor by the second and third team guys.

Would you guys have prefered de Justin Tuck? He was still on the board when we drafted Roth.

Thanks for the update. The game wasn't broadcast here.

For reasons only known to the networks, Central Florida gets games in this order: Jacksonville, TB, Miami. Here, we had a choice of watching TB or my alma mater, UCF. :(

Yea thanks brother!

i wasn't able to see the game, but checked the stats and Roth had the most tackles and from what i hear was in the backfiled the most as well...i think some of us may have unrealistic expectations for our rookies...

Get off matt roths back... quit comparing him to jason taylor... quit calling him a bust...
J.T is a sure Hall of Famer not everyone is gonna walk right out as a rookie and be able to duplicate a Hall of Famer ... Matt Roth is gonna be a monster maybe he wasnt blessed with the wing span of JT and looks slow.. but a lot of people sai that JT was too skinny.. didnt stop him I say Rally behind Roth because him Channing and Travis daniels are probably gonna be the face of the dolphins Defense in the future and i hopw they are

It's hardly getting on Roth's back to point out he doesn't look like 2nd round caliber. No more than the raves for Channing Crowder and Travis Daniels are prematurely inappropriate because they look like great value picks.

Roth deserves scrutiny because a primary focus of our offseason was peddling Surtain for the elusive #2 to "make up" for the disastrous Feeley trade. We ended up with Matt Roth. In the last twelve months we shipped two of our premier defenders in Ogunleye and Surtain. The haul: Marty Booker, Lamar Gordon and Matt Roth. My hands shake in uncontrollable disbelief and disgust when I type that.

You concede Roth has a marginal wingspan and looks slow. Hint: he looks slow because he is slow. Now how do those traits equate to an eventual monster? We made a personnel blunder. Roth will not bust but he won't be special. It's hardly too early to offer an opinion in that direction, no more than watching Feeley throw mindless short line drives for Philly in 2002 wasn't sufficient evidence for many to predict he wouldn't come close to fulfilling 2nd round value for us.

LOL   Yea because it makes total sense to make a full opinion of a guy's whole career off of 4 preseason games. Brilliant. Purely brilliant. No wait, the opposite of brilliant.
