MattMoore Highlights...Dude is amazing

Ireland flat out said that he chose Pouncey in part b/c it was the "safe pick".

He learned that from Tuna (like Long or Ryan). O-linemen on average tend to bust less than other positions.

Again, we have a regime that makes GM decisions to protect their own jobs - not for what's best for the long term interests of this franchise - i.e. finding our franchise QB.

I don't mind the Long pick and was quite happy to take him over Ryan at the time being an unproven QB. I don't think in hindsights. I don't mind the Pouncey pick either. But through this FA... when so much seemed to be on the line... they lacked aggression I was hoping to see.

On the contrary....the FO is thinking about the "long term". That's why they are buliding from the interior..the line. Even a great QB would look like crap with a bad O-line. In my opinion, there were no "franchise" QBs in this yrs draft or in FA.

Ignoring qb has seldom led any team to the promised land. I mean u do realize we are in year 4 of this regime. So do u ignore qb until year 6 and how many years do u go 7-9

Ehhhhh I didnt feel this way before but Im starting to rly want Kyle Orton... **** a 3rd rd pick is more than worth it.

That video did nothing to alleviate the sick feeling I have in the pit of my stomach.

I watched the same games as you guys, why does everyone have Henne as a bust in the first 2 years.. To me this is the year he should be making the leap to starting qb caliber.. Last year, I saw a lot of OL problems, receivers not getting away from anyone to create space, yet chad had over 3K yards..this year it seems the team understood a lack of speed was in play last year...Chad had some great games in his first year coming in for penny, we had a WR that made people respect his speed, we had a OL that blew ppl off the line, and when chad had to beat teams with his arm, i.e., Jet's, Pats, he did well..but our D that year let us down, down the stretch and our O let us down last year.. Well this is the first year, we may have both..the D got attention last year and produced, this year it was the O..even though I'm still a little concern with the OL... Now it's how the speed is used..we have gates, plus brian's back, we got bush\Daniels, Clay, Kory's back, Moore seems faster and we have some undrafted speed.. if we can get to the season with all that speed intact..we may have something, provided our OL is better. I think this is the year you evaluate the future of C. Henne.

Not true. A great QB would merely look worse than he could. One of of the things that would make them "great" is actually having pocket presence and being able to deal with the pressure that would occur with them having a bad line. Look around the league, and you're going to find a lot of QB's who make their lines look better by being decisive and avoiding the rush.

Now I didn't really watch too much of Matt Moores game but after watching this vid, i see he is pretty accurate, hes a little mobile in the pocket, he has arm strength and is very patient...i mean even tho this is his 2009 video, i just don't know where he went wrong in 2010. Matt mention n in his press conference it was a lot of injuries on the panthers like Steve smith there # 1 nd only go to guy/weapon on the panthers so lets be honest without Steve smith the panthers are worthless, im not trying to make no excuses thoe but so far im loving what i see from moore and i can guarantee u he takes henne spot if orton doesn't get traded here

Amazing? :err: Well, lucky for us the Panthers have so much QB talent on their roster they were willing to let this amazing talent get away for free. I dont want to be a dick but come on dude, you're basing his accuracy on a highlight video . You can take anybody's 20 best passes in an entire season and make him look accurate. "This guys amazing, he didnt throw ONE incomplete pass in his entire highlight video"!!!!

They didn't ignore QB they drafted 2 QB's fact is one was a bust
the other (Henne) jury is still out.

I believe that Ireland knows he has another year(maybe even Ross promised him this)
thus Ireland is being smart he isn't morgateging "HIS"
future, mcnabb, kolb, hasselback, VY & Orton all available
he chose Orton for two reasons in Irelands mind would be the least expensive-most experienced starting QB.
No one saw Orton pulling a power play for more money & assurance he would be starter,
thus I believe Ireland decided(most likely explained to sparano before FA Ill try to get you an
upgrade at QB to help save your job) that this year will simply
have to be the year Henne proves his worth.

Moore is in my opinion going to get a fair shot at the QB job,
worste case Henne loses job to Moore and Moore can't play either
for Ireland this opens the door for him to finally draft his
QB in what looks to be a strong QB class(Luck-Barkley-Jones-Weeden)
to name a few.

I know it's difficult to watch but I feel this is the best "football"
move without a sure fire improvement at QB way waste
picks or money on the same as what you have.

If Orton is traded to Miami great I don't feel it changes anything
Ireland is trying to win he just doesn't want to over pay
for the most important position on the team out of desperation.

You don't think its pretty sad that we re still rebuilding the line in year 4 after all the money and high draft picks we ve used? If we spent as much time, resources, and draft picks on play-makers as we have linemen we d probably be a damn good team, capable of actually scoring and creating turnover. This regime still hasn't figured out that passing the ball and stopping the pass is more important than running and stopping the run. We do everything *** backwards.

These "highlights" are misleading. I live in Carolina and have watched just as many Panther games as I have Dolphin games. In 2009 When Moore played the last few games of the season, the teams he played were either already in the playoffs and were just playing their scrubs so their starters didnt get hurt or he was just playing against weak defenses. Moore is bit of a gunslinger without great arm stength. I like that he takes chances but he's nothing to get excited about.
