Mauck to become a Dolphin ?

"Yeah, like uh......."Because Tommy Maddox is 33 and injury prone.

And Roethlisberger was the best play on the board.

Well then I guess any QB couldn't have done what he did. Pittsburgh still had the #11 overall pick, I believe.

Back to discussing Mauck...

If what was said earlier was true, that Saban has publically said that Mauck was a bad Qb for him (link, reference?), then this is all a moot point. Otherwise, I would welcome someone that is young like Mauck and has the potential to grow within our system.

Which means we won't have a QB for 3 years.

I think that was an argument for not drafting Drew Brees 4 years ago...good thing we didn't do that, we'd still be looking for a qb right now.

He signed with the titans.

I prefer Josh Harris to him. Harris has far more physical talent atleast to develop. By the way OrangeCrush what happened to that guy, was it Jackson, you guys were developing as the third string a few years back?

I want to see Omar Jacobs in a Fins uniform in 2006.

That's not necessarily true. If we got Leinart, he'd be ready to play his first year. Roethlisberger proved you can be the 3rd QB taken and still be a solid QB in your rookie year. I was hoping Feeley would come around this year, but after being demoted to 3rd string, I guess I'm getting on the draft a QB in 06 bandwagon.

well it is true cause we wont be getting leinart we will be drafting around 15th or 16th and matt will be long gone by then and the only other qb is omar and he is a 2nd round pick or that is where they have him at so imo it will be 3 years be 4 we have a good qb play i say we go after brees and pleaseeeeeee dont say rivers cause that would be like atlanta getting rid of mike vick to much cap on rivers they just about couldnt cut him if they want so IMO it will be brees he is the best FA next year

Saban recruited Jeff Smoker as well before he left for LSU

Yes but he doesn't have a great deep ball or arm strength. Josh Harris atleast does.

he has a decent arm, plus he played in the spread offense his last year at MSU. He also was with the Rams, so he'd be in a similar offense with us.

that said, I'd be fine with Harris too
