Maybe I Wasn't Wrong Afterall

tannehill is seen as a franchise qb on this site and its pretty laughable. 95 percent of the posters talk numbers and stats and potential but they always seem to never mention how this guy has NEVER been a winner. mediocre in college and mediocre as a pro but that is always overlooked. there were so many games this year where he left points on the field i lost count. matt moore came in at buffalo and immediately connected on a bomb, something tannehill sucked at all year. its not a stretch at all to say this would have been a playoff team if moore was the starter.

I'm sorry but Tannehill was flat out garbage against the Jets. His play in that game was pathetic.

The whole team laid an egg... staff included..that includes RT. He is not solely to blame.

just a question for you langer, what if tannehill hits a WIDE OPEN wallace in that 2nd quarter in the season finale and we go up 14-0 on the jets?? you dont think we win that game and make the playoffs?

Jeez this will be a long offseason...

I see this often in regard to the last Buffalo game... Did you see the OL in that game? Completely abused. QB was getting hit at the snap! Name more than 2 QBs in the league that would have performed much better in those conditions.

He connected on a bomb, but threw an interception on the very next play.

always excuses, excuses, excuses..oline this rb that, when does tannehill ever get some blame??

He looked pretty good against the Cheatriots in week 15

yeah he threw a pick after he was sitting on the bench all game ..in the cold...in the rain. im making an excuse just like you and almost everyone on here does for mr.franchise(15-17 career record not withstanding)

he looked great against the dirtbag cheats but choked away the season against the jets.

He also looked good against the Colts, Falcons, Chargers and Steelers. He stunk against the Bucs, Saints, Jets, Bills and was mediocre against the Panthers and Browns.

Tannenhill has gotten blame. But there has been more to blame on an O line that cant block for the pass or run. Running backs get blamed for not getting yardage ! All of which would put pressure off of our Qb.

Why would you put him on a short leash? The kid is growing .And he has improved . Personally I would give him better protection and give him a little more freedom to make plays. To handcuff him would be bad .
I am not saying the should "handcuff him". He just needs to know the that if he can't put more points on the board, the coach will go with the other QB.

im sorry, but cant have it both ways.

when we win, all i read on this site is how well tannehill played, tannehill this, tannehill that, etc, basically getting the majority of the credit.

yet when we lose he does not deserve majority of the blame?

look, ur comment may be right, but it has to go both ways then. cant get all the credit when we win but get basically very little blame when we lose.

if we had lost the final 2 games by scores of 37-34 and tannehill played turnover free ball, then ya, tannehill would not deserve really any blame.

However, we scored 7 pts combined in 2 games vs inferior teams with the playoffs on the line. that is pathetic.

the defense in those games, while far from lights out, was good enough, that if we had gotten even average qb play in those games, we make the playoffs. he did not even need to play like aaron rodgers, peyton manning, tom brady, etc, all he had to do was perform like an avg qb and we make playoffs and a big reason we did not was because our 8th overall pick who was drafted to lead our franchise for the next 10-15 years shat the bed.

he will deff get a chance next year to redeem himself, but if he does not take the next step, at least leading us to the playoffs, then the fins need to accept the fact that maybe they failed again in the draft and draft another qb.

no more excuses, elite qbs never ever make excuses, never, so if he wants to take the next step and become a very good qb in this league, no more excuses, just ****ing win.

Again this is a team game. And if Tannenhill has the players around him. Like a decent line something of a run game. The points should come. Unless Tannenhill regresses there shouldnt be the worry about putting another qb in!
