Maybe Ireland was right for asking Dez if his Mom was a prostitute?

martin is the first case I've ever seen of a player coming forward like he has. usually these are men's men (no pun intended in martin's case) and to say they were offended by a GM asking them questions that "hurt" their feelings is about the last thing these manly men would do. if you think any different, I'd really have to think you haven't been around a military organization or organized sports.

I have played both baseball and football i am also 6'3 285lbs being big helped me hang around longer than i wanted. but that has no bearing on this subject. You can yearn for a bygone era all you want that's not going to change things. The are laws and the NFL, NFLPA, and the players are not immune to them just because you want them too. A smart organization insulates itself from these things. Look technically Ireland is just a really really big HR director. Even the most basic HR director in the smallest companies knows his 1st job is protect the company from lawsuits don't tell chicks your tits are too small you can't work here, or what your from Massachusetts? Can't work here that is the basic basic basic duty. What's does he do? The EXACT opposite. Now the action in itself is microcosm of Ireland's world now we know of his ineptness in other areas now knowing that compiled with the other stuff we know. Now I find it morally repugnant to ask a person about his heritage and judge him on that or if they had a father or not. How would feel if there was some dark secrets your mom did and you may known or not known and it may keep you from your dream job? Is that who you want us to be? Really? What kind of country is that. To equate the NFL to the military is absolute lunacy these men fight no cause and at best could be compared to mercenaries. Now I know I cannot change a person's view of politics, religion, worldview, we all suffer from some form of cognitive dissonce so even if you don't believe its morally wrong to do what Ireland did, you must agree with the fact that it is illegal and its continuance will harm our common cause of the furthermost of the organization of known as the Miami Dolphins

You do know I'm telling you why to ask any question in any shape or form is wrong right? The mother question or the father question is wrong because it is a class/heritage discrimination that is what the OP originally opined that what a great job Ireland did when in fact had it gone in the opposite direction the fallout from it would have been horrific and possibly made the Incognito situation look like a bad PR day and we are lucky to have dodged a bad situation caused by Ireland's ineptness yet again. RIGHT?

I don't have to do anything. this didn't happen in my workplace and I can assume that dez's mom is a crack whore if I wanted, I am not however in charge of a multi million dollar personel department. the fact that Ireland still is two years after dez's mom is a whore gate, tells me that it was either A.) dealt with or B.) is not an issue.

You're the only one making it an issue.

doesn't matter. if jeff gets fired, it won't be because dez's mom is a whore gate. it'll be because he wasted the owners money and put together a roster that didn't make the playoff and caused unneeded locker room drama an investigations.

That's not true, Dez Bryant choose not to pursue it because it would have harmed his chances to get on a team in the NFL. That doesn't mean it is gone forever. If it continues a civil suit can find its way in the Dolphins lap one day and bunch of other guys could band together at a later date to do so either individually or as a group but by all means lets keep cheering Ireland's wonderful line of questioning it will never bite us in ass ever

You're the only one making it an issue. your right you can assume that she is a whore or great mom thats not the point, your just being obtuse. Your personal feelings are not what is is question. If you where in a position though no matter what line of work and you asked questions of this nature it will lead to a lawsuit and if you like giving away your money because you refused to understand discrimination laws thats fine by me too.
