McAdoo To Interview for Browns Head Coaching job

What in the **** are the Browns doing? I would have bet big money they were setting themselves up for a huge hire like Jon Gruden or Gus Malzaihn. Think about it, they forced **** QBs on Chud, traded one of his best players on offense and hardly spent any of their cap in the offseason. Chud could not have won in that situation, it was an impossibility. Now they are set up with a huge salary cap, no QB and 2 first round picks. They are set up perfectly for a complete rebuild and there is no way they are taking a chance with that with a 30 something QB coach...

Thought the Browns wanted Josh McDaniels.

Josh doesn't want the Browns.

Nobody wants that job. They have been laughably throwing out names of hot college coaches like Malzahn, Franklin, etc.

Part of the interviewing process is checking out the prospective offensive and defensive coaching talent available and better understanding their individual philosophies. That doesn't mean that McAdoo is a serious prospect for Cleveland Head Coaching job. Banner is smart to be checking out a possible emerging candidate. There is no harm in giving him an interview, it just takes up a bit of time. McAdoo may also be auditioning as a Browns OC, as well.

I read that McAdoo was around a few yrs ago when Rodgers was sacked frequently & often. In Spite of that, GB still had a potent offense.

I'd still prefer Chryst, Linehan, or Norv.

Great news. Lets hope he gets it and stays away from this team (unless its for a lateral move to QB coach)!

They still have no QB

At what point though do you credit the player for the on field performance though? I'm sure Peyton Manning would still be Peyton Manning even if he didn't have a coach at all. Same probably goes for Rodgers and Brees, etc. They're their own coaches basically.

I seriously don't see what all the hype is about regarding this guy. Just seems like a Philbin clone to me, except McAdoo hasn't even been a coordinator anywhere. What the hell are the Browns doing interviewing him for their Head Coaching job???

Who give a flying **** if he hasn't called the plays at any level. I looked up the first 5 OC's that came to mind and none of them had any experience at being an OC either before their first OC job. Their names; Greg Roman, Josh McDaniels, Ken Whisenhunt, Darryll Bevell, and Ken Whisenhunt. That argument is nothing but an opinion and a ****ty one at that.

He is not even scheduled to visit the Dolphins so far. They may be waiting to see where this head coaching thing goes.

The Dolphins may eventually have interest in interviewing GB assistant Ben McAdoo for OC job but have not yet requested permission to do so.

So no Dolphins interview with Ben McAdoo is scheduled right now

They probably shouldn't have fired their coach after one year. If coaches are expected to win with that roster in year one and not have any time to build something then I would say it's a no win situation.

Although the Browns do have the 4th and 20-something pick from Indy and they could use that to move up to #1...issue is Mike Lombardi, their GM, is known to love Johnny Manziel and that's probably who he would take.
