McAdoo To Interview for Browns Head Coaching job

They probably shouldn't have fired their coach after one year. If coaches are expected to win with that roster in year one and not have any time to build something then I would say it's a no win situation.

Although the Browns do have the 4th and 20-something pick from Indy and they could use that to move up to #1...issue is Mike Lombardi, their GM, is known to love Johnny Manziel and that's probably who he would take.

Jonny football plus Gus Malzahn would be a deadly combo.

well with his contract up, technically we don't have to ask for permission

Yeah, if Armando is going off whether they requested permission or not then he can't tell if they've set up anything or not, although Joe may just as a courtesy.

The Browns are trying to get a HC coach on the cheap.

The contract is up in March so permission has to be granted.

Also, according to CK on twitter, the Browns interviewing him for HC may just be a way to circumvent the rules. For an OC you have to wait until March or get permission. For a HC job, there is no such rule stating need to get permission in this circumstance. So they are most likely doing this to get a head start in interviewing him as "head coach" so they can circle back when they are looking for an OC after hiring a head coach. It's a good strategy

Imagine Hayden's (short lived) delight if we tried the same trick.

I would have thought that as well but it's actually not correct. I read on here in a couple places it's like the 3rd Tuesday after the regular season has ended. It's a dumb rule.

Malzahn...the flavor of the week. Don't think that offense would work in the NFL I can tell you that much. And Johnny Football is the most un-fundamentally sound QB in this draft and I'm glad we don't need a QB.

The way Hoyer was playing for Cleveland last year, I think they'd be crazy not to have him at least be a competitor for the starting job. Have an open competition with Hoyer and Campbell, and draft a project QB in a later round. Some guys from the smaller schools can be had later and have proven to be very capable NFL starters with time to sit and learn. Just as an example (and my alma mater..), the kid that played for Eastern Illinois University has good measurables and put up monster stats this year. They come cheap and you never know.
Enough about the Browns.

Who do we think are the best QB coaches in the NFL?

Who give a flying **** if he hasn't called the plays at any level. I looked up the first 5 OC's that came to mind and none of them had any experience at being an OC either before their first OC job. Their names; Greg Roman, Josh McDaniels, Ken Whisenhunt, Darryll Bevell, and Ken Whisenhunt. That argument is nothing but an opinion and a ****ty one at that.

The echo chamber wants change, but change they like. They want someone whom the media will love, there for validating their love of the choice.

So instead of getting a possible franchise QB, go cheap with Hoyer/Campbell and get a late round project? You sir, have lost what ever thin credibility you do have.

Ken Whisenhunt is so good he's in your top 5 twice lol.
