McCoy video that is changing my opinion about him

The link is an interview with mccoy before this season while the lockout was on. Not sure if that's the vid u are talking about, if so, he doesn't mention the dolphins or our offense at all...

I'm sorry, let me clarify. "Our" meaning his staff not Phins. Showed me that it isn't all about him rather wanted all ideas brought to the table. I liked that.

I have to be honest I was originally against McCoy. After watching this video he is swaying me some. I like the way he talks about our offense. Seems bright. I know this is just a video but I can see why the Phins like him.

He still worries me. In that video he said that they look back at the past and see whats been sucessfull, mainly in Carolina, for those who do not know, that means, run the ball, run the ball. Sounds like Tony Sparano/Dan Henning all over again. No upgrade or change at all, just spinning wheels like always

Also, I know i said he likes to run the ball but he really likes a two back system (Foster/Davis, Williams/Stewert, Mcgaee/Moreno/Tebow) that may be what Ireland is so excited about, his plan for the running game. But Ross obviously isnt a fan, plus he's already said he wants an exciting offense, which is why he prefers Philben

Get ready for a heavy dose of Daniel Thomas and Reggie Bush or we may draft a new RB all together

philbin should be the pick. im still not sold on mccoy. if he becomes the coach i will support him tho

and i cant stand the 'well he was good in carolina". when? they've had a couple good years

Gotcha, guess we are all just in for the ride at this point, although I like a lot of speculation about these coaches on the board are all without merit as we are not in the interview room. We will have to support whoever comes in and hopefully the team gets more aggressive both in the off season and next year in the season.

McCoy served on the Carolina coaching staff from 2000-2008. In 2000 they were 7-9; in 2001 they were 1-15; in 2002 they were 7-9; in 2003 they were 11-5 and NFC champions; 2004 they were 7-9; 2005 they were 11-5 with two playoff wins and one playoff loss; 2006 they were 8-8; 2007 they were 7-9; 2008 they were 12-4 with one playoff loss.

McCoy was offensive coordinator in Denver in 2009 - 2011. In 2009 Kyle Orton had a career year posting good numbers in all passing categories and the Broncos finished 8-8. In 2010 Orton and the Denver passing attack was ranked 7th in the NFL but the Broncos finished 4-12. In 2010 they revamped the offense to fit Tebow and eeked out an 8-8 record and had a big playoff win vs. Pittsburgh.

Perhaps there IS hope, but i'm not sure.

l'm not sold on any of these 3 but no one will be happier than me if pleasantly surprised. Let's just get this whole ordeal behind us and get back to business.

You like him based on a 3 and a half minute video? You do know that his offense in Carolina AND Denver sucked right?

Yes but he is young lol. Also you cant blame the carolina offense on him he was the qb coach and passing coordinator later on.

LOL what the HELL are you talking about??

the guy just said on the video that the QB is the most important position that its the QB's team and its on his shoulders period. he said he is going to borrow some of the running game stuff from carolina to add to his passing attack.

he is a qb coach by trade. this guy is about throwing the ball, and he has coached marshall and moore before.

imo this guy is more of a solid pick than philbin, and im not sure why philbin is so hyped up around here. he does not call his own plays and hes another o-line coach.

mccoy has played QB professionally, as a breif back up in the NFL and in canada and europe i think.

mccoy is the right guy. esp if we care about qb, and no im not talking about one game wonder flynn.

In the video he talks about how all three quarterbacks have to understand that the system comes first and that they all need to be able to step in and run the system the same way. This is interesting in light of that article that was posted yesterday about how McCoy is a new breed of coach who tailors offenses to personnel.

McCoy is more of a LEADER OF MEN then Philbin.......you can tell that just by watching vids of them online.

Philbin makes me cringe the same way i did when i first saw Cam Cameron in an interview before he was named the coach for the Dolphins.

It doesn't really matter now anyways.... if you have half a brain you know McCoy is going to be the new coach.:hclap:
