McIntosh Will Have a BIG Effect

You missed my point. The point is, if every player should play their best regardless of what the other is doing and not give up because one player sucks. Zach is part of a unit and was an example and not an analogy.

Zach is also dependent on the DT doing their assignments so he can run freely and make tackles. Do you think he gives up when the DT miss their assignments?
I think if Zach had the equivalent of an advanced high-schooler at DT and he knew there wasn't anybody on the bench better than him, eventually he'd give up. These guys are humans, not pre-programmed robots who play according to some superhuman standard. It's human nature to give up after you realize that your best efforts can't change something.

Sure, the O sucks so the D might as well give up? Is that what your D did last Sunday?
 I'm talking about the O-line....you know, the premise of the thread. :shootself:

This thing goes way deeper than the O-line. Hello? The whole franchise is in shambles. We have a POS owner and a defensive coach as a head coach. We have an average to sucky QB in Fiedler and a somewhat decent QB that hasn't been handed enough reps with the starting offense to gel with them. The only thing rock solid at the moment is the Defense. You can't blame one person for this mess. Until the O-line as a whole improves and Feeley starts learning this offense and getting in time with the receivers then we are SOL people. And even then I worry about the coaching. Face it .....Wanny just doesn't cut it.

I know but if you can't understand that not every player gives up because one player sucks then you must be :redeye:

Of course it goes deeper than the O line, but I'm talking about why the offense looks like a high school offense even though all of its players except one are beyond the high school level.

I agree. The reason I have a hard time swallowing this is because Wade played through the mini camps, training camps and preseason. You mean to tell me the entire offensive line has been quitting for all that time?
Plus the coaches wouldn't catch on to this behavior?

This line has been bad from day one. There is no quick fix on our roster that will catapult this line into being good.

I also understand that the O-line consists of 5 guys working together as one and if a part of that line is broken beyond repair it IS POSSIBLE that the rest of the players would be discouraged enough that it would effect their play.

So, I may be high but at least I'm not so stupid that I can't understand that concept.

The coaches ARE catching on to this behavior -- it all came to a HEAD Sunday night. Haven't you heard the saying "a team is only as good as its weakest link"?

And "discouraged" is a better word than "quit" (which I used). If you think plays are gonna break down because there's an amateur on the field alongside you, eventually you're gonna get so discouraged that it affects your own level of effort and intensity.

Your Zach analogy has very little to do with the O-line, except they they both play for the same team.

The O-line is supposed to be 5 guys working together. Zach is supposed to do HIS job.

I wonder how well Zach could do if he had the DT letting opposing linemen get their hands on him?

He'd still play hard and bust his butt every play.

Are you implying that Zach does not play with a unit? Isn't he dependent as well on the front line doing their job just like the Ol is dependent on one another?

Woody goes down with an injury and yet the Pats' OL doesn't miss a heartbeat.

I don't know..maybe I'm in denial, but I just can't believe that every single one of our lineman suck. Something's fishy about the blocking schemes, either they're calling the wrong ones or the lineman are confused and have yet to learn them correctly. We need one of our lineman to grow a pair and step up...take control of this line and settle it down. Jeno is that you? D-Mac maybe? Heck I even wouldn't mind Carey taking over and showing some heart/cojones.

For awhile, until he realized on some level that no matter what he did, it wasn't going to be good enough.

we shall see if your thoughts are right. IF your OL still struggles w/ Mcintosh deos that mean the other guys also gave up on him too?
