Mckinney and Clabo

No they gave up the option IIRC...
I was surprised when we heard that McKinney and the team agreed to void the final year of the contract. Would have been nice to keep him around one more year.

I really liked what I saw from the Alabama Olinemen in the big Tackle and Steen at G. 1st and 2nd/3rd rounder type. Steen doesnt make many mistakes at all and I will trust anyone from a Saban camp than most.

Also like Linder at Miami.

To be completely honest it could be that the offensive line finally got rid of the unprofessionals. They were being led by Inco-bully-Nito, Mike "Free Murder" Pouncey, and their bitch was J. "Vagina" Martin. The O-Line could have been in dire need of some true professionals after J. Long signed with the Rams.

Think about it.

You lose the three knuckleheads of the group and replace them with two true NFL veterans that know how the NFL works... Not saying that McKinnie is a model citizens or an example of what to be in the NFL. But the spotlight was not on Bryant it was on two other guys for once... lol! He couldn't believe that he was the voice of reason... lol.

The O-Line is finally playing like professionals and it shows.

McKinnie and Pouncey are the only starters on this line. We need to sign a quality RT and draft OG and OT.
Brenner, Garner, and Yeatman are valuable back up players who will probably need to start until the new rookies are eady.
Is Dallas Thomas a player or bust?
Going forward, we need to move Pouncey to Guard and draft a better center.

brenner has looked pretty good so far why do you say he can only be a backup? bob keuchenberhg and larry little were castoffs before becoming great players. brenner should start over jerry.

These guys can't pull, can't get to the second level, and get out on screens...they are not the future.

Yeatman I am not sure is a keeper. He is 270 lbs. I think we end up drafting 3 OL and a couple more undrafted's. If Dallas doesnt improve over a rook, it may be time to just let him go or PS.

Big proponent of keeping Mckinney here at the very least to have a vet presence for youngins and start the season. I heard somewhere that he is happy to be back home. If they tore up the contract, what is the reason?

I think there is a limit on the number of games you can be active, after which you are no longer allowed to be on the PS...I am not sure he could be put on it. Also, even though he appears to suck...the GM would probably not risk his "valuable 3rd rounder" getting snapped up off the PS.

Addition by subtraction is my guess

my guess is keep vets one more year and work rooks in slowly and let them learn and wait for injuries. which apparently happen in preseason too.

Considering what a cluster**** our oline's future is, I'm big into the idea of bringing McKinnie back next year. Unfortunately, I have doubts the team will. McKinnie and Pouncey covering LT and the interior makes completely new additions to the rest of the line a lot more palatable.
