McMike - Are you kidding me?

O-Gun was diffrent. he was holding out. and it seemed as if he was willing to sit out for a while. so the fins traded him.

and the franchise tag comes after the contract has run out, it does not come in with 1 season left. AFTER his contract is over, and they want to get some value for the player, a team uses the franchise tag. but in my arguement was not about weather a team should use the tag, its weather a team should trade a player with 1 year left on his contract, when hes willing to play for that contract year.

it would be crazy to trade him.

Exactly! From a Buffalo fan of all people. When you can RFA him, and tender him with a 1st and third, and teams will pay it, why would you trade him for chump change? Only these people would, ROFLMAO!

traded for cap reasons last season. his trade allowed the fins to drop there cap below the limit, and got a pick for it. NOT because he was going to ask for a ton of money this season.

as a side note:
your team will see a BIG diffrence between surtain and madison this season. and you will be saying a 2nd rounder was nothing compared to what surtain did for your team. and how madison cant handle it. (but then again thats my opinion).

No, your right.

Go bite some donkey balls. She didnt attack me, so I dont attack her. You the one with the glorified image of yourself. I state my opinions, and I can accept other opinions. But, when you attack mine/me, I will give it back.

look back and you will see that you started the attacks...you started off with Rich22...the person who created this thread...and you did not like his opinion and you went off on him.

wait, Surtain was asking for tons of money. Tons of money he deserved, but tons of money none the less.

Man, are we gonna be missing him too. I like Lance alot, but Surtain he's not. We should of ditched Madison. Oh well, whats done is done.

Madison had a contract that would of actually hurt the cap if he was traded or released.

We are going to miss Surtain. The only thing that is going to soften the blow is the fact that one on one press covereage is less important in this defense. And the defensive line looks much better at getting pressure on the quarterback.

Um ya, I called him a hypocrit for excsuing Feeley all day long, but not Randy. That is hypocritical, thank you.

Excuse me BUT go back and read my initial message and show me where Feeley's name is even mentioned. Ooops! I'll accept your apology now. You went off for no reason and have continued to attack since. Big Deal we don't agree - no need for personal attacks. I'm not the GM - just giving my opinion. If i say Randy needs a kick in the Azz because he isn't doing his job - it's my opinion - you can disagree but then that would be your opinion - right?

I would rather have kept Surtain and let Madison go too, but Surtain had the huge cap number and we might have lost him next year anyway. I don't think Madison had the high cap number (not like Surtain's anyway). It was unfortuante. But we would have lost more if we kept Surtain and let Madison go.

Hey, I got a brilliant idea, that would fit your prefernce, of wasting talent. Lets trade McMike straight up to Denver for Dwayne Carswell. Now, that should fit your brilliant gameplan beautifully. You want a blocker, Dwayne fits the bill. What? You dont like that idea? You want a TE that can block more then one that can catch, and make plays. Your so hyped up on getting the garbage QB more protection. Just because there are other TE in the NFL that block, dont mean jack. Thats because the TE's have too for other inept QB's. You think we got the market cornered on crap QB's? That is what your suggesting, to get rid of McMike for a blocking TE. So, dont try to lay the quote on me for getting rid of McMike. Your the one saying he aint pulling his weight. I am saying, you would be downright stupid to not to play to his strengths. Dont lay that garbage on me.
you are certifiably ******ed.

my point was and still is, if he wants Tony Gonzalez money, let him go.

that is it. bottom line. i have said that in every post of mine in this thread. how many more times do i have to say it until you wake up from that mental coma you are in? i don't care how good you think he is. if a player asks for more than they are worth and a resolution cannot be worked out, you have to get rid of them.

Who said anything about trading McMike for Carswell? are you that mentally inept to draw that conclusion from my saying that blocking is more important than catching? Look, its easier to play a blocking TE than it is to play a quality QB (read: we HAVE blocking TE's on our roster, we DON'T have quality QBs on it). If you're only options at QB are crap and crap, then you need to cater to them, not your TE because he lead the team in catches last year. i never said trade him for another TE who can block - i said i'd rather have a blocking TE over him..... because right now that is the issue, our team is hurting for blockers on the o-line.

You say that we shouldn't have to pander to our weak QB... and i agree, but we have to do it if we don't want fumbles returned for TDs. come on man, wake up. football isn't about what you should have to do... its about what you NEED to do to win games. right now we NEED to protect our inept QBs. that means blocking. Randy needs to learn to block.

IF mcmike finally signs a deal with us that is commensurate with his performance, then i'll be happy and i think that is what we need. but if not and he holds out for big-time money.... no way. i say trade him or franchise him for the pics.
