If he fixes the mental mistakes, and continues to have electric returns through the preseason, he'll make the team. He would contribute a lot more than Turner or Hartline.
Would still much rather use Ginn on returns.
Agreed. Bears are mighty ****ing stupid for taking one of the, if not the most electrifying return man of all time off returns so he can work on being a WR.bad idea in my opinion. Only worse idea is not using Hester on returns
Why? I believe this kid average 32 yds a return...I highly doubt that Ginn would match that...and wouldn't it far better for Ginn just to worry about receiving...than add more to his brain.
Lastly...Williams has speed and the feet that Ginn wished he had.
Williams...4.88 gears
Ginn...3.10 gears
the first job of a returner is to hold on to the ball!
the punt returns are scaring me with the bobbling... the kick returning is fine, but i think if he doesn't lock down BOTH of those jobs he wont have room on the roster, if he can sure up the kick and punt return duty i think we'll make the room for him.... if he is having too much trouble handling punts i think hes gone, regardless of how good he may be on kick returns...
Personally I'm all about whats best for the team. Ginn showed in college he was a top level return man. Im sure if Desean Jackson can handle both well that Ginn should be able to. Williams was real shaky and is so small that he cannot do much else
screw Wilford, he scored on a gadget play
During punt drills, Brandon Fields launched some bombs well over 70 yards and undrafted rookie returner Chris Williams worked on letting the ball bounce when he’s backed up inside his own 10-yardline.
