Meet your 2014 miami dolphins

I like the team.

Wouldn't mind seeing us pick up a Guard or Swing Tackle from some of the cuts out there, and perhaps a run stopping linebacker.....but overall I like it. The team made a couple of tough decisions to move on from mediocre players.

I would definitely bring in Succop or Henry for kicking duties....Sturgis isn't reliable.

Ryan Succop yes. Alex Henrey no. Weak leg and just as inaccurate as Sturgis.

* I hate the kicking situation right now
* Fox is not a good enough swing OT
* The LB position is only going to be improved in house…either by the current vets figuring it out or some of the rookie LB's taking the next step.
* Smart move with Pouncey
* UDFA's will look favorably toward Hickey and Philbin (if they are still here) because the UFDA's got opportunities and earned roster spots
* Dallas Thomas could have been cut and replaced easily
* I am never done looking for DB's. Never have enough.
Any reason you led with kicking as a problem?? If so, I think that says a bunch about this team...Hopefully Hickey and Philbin are figuring it out!!!

The fact that they kept 10 OL leads me to believe that they are going to upgrade one or two parts on this OL if given the chance.

Do we take a look at Dimitri Patterson now that he got cut? I think we should.

Jason Fox and Dallas Thomas are the two weak links on the o-line. They both can easily be replaced.

He is not only injury prone but now it sounds like he's a mental case on top of it.

Champ Bailey was cut, he would make a good 3rd CB. Lache Seastrunk and Evan Royster were cut, they would be far better than Darkwa. Michael Sam was cut, and he was actually a pretty good DE....we could use some pass rush guys..

We could use pass rush guys? Wait, what?

Whoa, I read it again. You are a proponent of Michael Sam improving our pass rush?

God our linebackers are horrible. Can we move Dion Jordan there?

Only problem with that is there is no guarantee that he will be any better there or would be able to beat out anybody right now! Plus by his weight gain it might be a problem switching at this point! Had they done it before preseason he could have prepared and lost weight! And maybe even played himself into a position to where he could matter at LB! Personally I am starting to feel like he is going to be a bust and get released! And we lose anything or everything we possibly could have gotten for him!

I agree. He was rewarded for having a horrific preseason. But this is the Dolphins I have been watching for the last 39yrs. and the last 15, I have no idea what they are thinking most of the time.

The LB group sticks out like a sore thumb . . . it's pretty awful, but at least there is some potential there with guys like Tripp and McCain. I really hope the shuffling works out but I have my doubts. Not much you are going to be able to do with this group this year but it will definitely be a focus next season (draft/FA) if the unit turns out to be as bad as they were a season ago.

The RB group is meh, don't get me wrong, I loved the way both DW5 and Darkwa ran in preseason, but not sure if I would keep both on this roster. Lamar Miller needs to step up and be a legit homerun hitter for this offense. Moreno staying healthy is critical. I personally would of kept Daniel Thomas instead of Darkwa but Thomas has done nothing to deserve a "vouch" from anybody and I understand the decision and look forward to the 2 UDFA's running hard this season.

The DB group is solid, especially once Reshad returns and we can flip Jimmy back into the nickel. 4 CBs / 4 DBs / 1 interchangeable guy . . . it's how you plan it. We need a CB or 2 for the PS though as well as resign Kovacs to the PS as he was active both on the defense and on special teams when I saw him. Actually thought he was going to make the team.

WR group is the best group we've had since that Chambers/Booker/Welker combo we threw out there in 2006. Only thing lacking is a legit big target but Gibson was a pretty feisty redzone/TD guy last year so hopefully that continues.

Tight End group seems kind of barren . . . more like 2 H-backs and a blocking TE . . . although I could see all 3 guys making an impact on the offense so that is all that matters in the end. Still, I'd keep my eyes at the cuts and see who I could bring in to strengthen this group, if anybody. Clay 13 needs to reappear in 14 and be as effective as he was a year ago. He's a beast.

OL isn't elite or anything like that but easily a much improved unit, especially once Pouncey gets back in at center. Have to remain healthy at OT and just get consistency from the 2 veteran guards. I'd expect this group to lose at least 1 member when Pouncey becomes active and/or Jordan and Jones come back from suspension.

DLine once again the strength of this team and I'm cool with that. Solid, solid unit, the pass rush should be vicious.

The decision to go with 2 QBs is fine by me, especially when you have a capable back up in Matt Moore. Not sure about the Lobato kid though . . . guess he'll get a year on the PS to see what improvements can be made. Tannehill, it's your time to shine my man, don't let us down.
